Important tidbits from this week

XinaA15 v1.1.7.1 update

XinaA15 v1.1.7.1 jailbreak UI.

The XinaA15 jailbreak tool for arm64e devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1 was updated to a new public beta version on Monday that brought it up to version 1.1.7.1, and then updated a second time on Friday to version 1.1.7.2 with more bug fixes.

While this jailbreak is primarily for developers at this time, anyone who is already using the jailbreak is recommended to download and install the latest version at their earliest convenience.

State of iOS 16 firmware downgrades

The FutureRestore GUI.

FutureRestore project contributor Cryptiiiic shared some upsetting news this past week about the state of firmware downgrades for iOS & iPadOS 16 users that will primarily affect users of A12 chip or newer-equipped handsets.

According to them, downgrades may no longer be possible on those devices, but checkm8-compatible devices (A11 chip or older) should still be fine to downgrade.

You can learn more about the announcement and find out what this all means in our full news post.

Antoine system log viewer

Antoine hero image.

Antoine is a sexy new system log viewer for jailbroken and non-jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 13.0-16.2 devices that allows you to either view and sort saved system logs or stream them in real-time.

Antoine can be installed on jailbroken iOS or iPadOS 13.0-16.2 devices via a package manager app, but it can also be installed on non-jailbroken iOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some 15.5 and 15.6 beta) devices by way of the TrollStore perma-signing utility.

Cowabunga, perhaps one of the most popular all-in-one UI customization apps for TrollStore and MacDirtyCow exploit-susceptible devices, was updated to version 8.1.0 this past week.

While Cowabunga v8.1.0 adds a lot of changes, perhaps the most important is the ability to use custom fonts.
