We try to keep our readers apprised about the latest jailbreak and iPhone hacking news throughout the week, but we also understand that people lead busy lives and can’t always be around to read news throughout the week.

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

That’s why we curate a weekly roundup like this one, which puts everything from the past work week into one convenient post for you to get all caught up on the latest jailbreak tweak releases and pwnage breakthroughs.

Important stuff from this week

Port iOS 16.4 Emoji to older firmware

iOS 16.4 Emojis.

It’s possible to port the brand new Emojis found in iOS & iPadOS 16.4 to older, jailbroken iOS & iPadOS firmware including iOS & iPadOS 16.3.1 and below.

We show you how to do this in our detailed, step-by-step tutorial.

AltStore removes 3-app limit

AltStore remove three app limit toggle.

AltStore underwent beta testing with an update that will utilize the MacDirtyCow exploit on iOS 14.x-16.1.2 to remove the three-app sideloading limitation that currently affects users.

After the beta testing phase, the team officially released version 1.6.1 to the general public on Monday.

You can find out more about this feature and what to expect from it in our full news post.

Sideloadly removes 3-app limit

Sideloady v0.40.0 on Windows.

Sideloadly, a popular alternative to AltStore, was also updated this past week to support installing more than three apps at once, as well as automatic app refreshing either wirelessly from your PC or via a USB connection.

Sideloadly supports older iPhone and iPad firmware than AltStore does, which makes it especially enticing for some users.

You can find out more about the new Sideloadly v0.40.0 update in our full news post.

MusicAlert

The new MusicAlert jailbreak tweak ports the new action-based Apple Music pop-ups from iOS 16.4 to older iOS 13.0-16.3.1 firmware.

These pop-ups appear when doing things such as loving tracks, queuing tracks, or adding them to a playlist or your library.

You can learn more about MusicAlert and how it looks in our full review post.

iOS 16.3 unsigned

iOS 16 firmware downgrade

After releasing iOS & iPadOS 16.3.1 about a week ago, Apple just this week stopped signing the older iOS & iPadOS 16.3. This move prevents official downgrades via iTunes or Finder.

You can find out more about how this affects users in our full news post.

iOS 15.6 RC unsigned & FutureRestore issues on iOS 16

Downgrade iOS 15

Apple just this week unsigned iOS 15.6 RC (release candidate), ending the only pathway for someone on iOS 16 to downgrade back to iOS 15 to wait for a jailbreak.

Additionally, FutureRestore users are being advised not to use the tool on iOS 16 or any device capable of running iOS 16 due to dysfunctional issues.

You can learn more about these changes in our full news post.

Luz Build System

Luz vs Theos speed test.

Luz is a new Python-based Build System that makes jailbreak tweak development faster and more efficient by being up to three times faster than Theos.

According to the developer, Luz was made with the rootless dynamic of modern jailbreaks in mind.

You can find out more about Luz and how it works in our full news post.

Kawari TrollStore App Store

Kawari is an upcoming App Store-like user experience that will allow TrollStore users on iOS 15 to discover and install new add-ons with ease.

We don’t know much about the project yet, or what it will look like, but it was just this week teased by palera1n team lead developer @itsnebulalol.

You can find out everything we know about Kawari in our full news post.
