Jailbreak tweaks of the week: BetterCC, DarkPapers, & more…

2021 went off with a bang after Pwn20wnd updated the unc0ver jailbreak tool to support even more firmware versions on a greater subset of iPhones and iPads (specifically the A12 & A13 varieties, running iOS or iPadOS 14.6-14.8). Consequently, those new jailbreakers are playing catch-up and looking for ways to trick out their newly-pwned handset with jailbreak tweaks.

Fortunately, that’s what we’re here for, and this roundup will encompass all the latest jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak-based news tidbits spanning Monday, December 27th to Sunday, January 2nd.

As always, we’ll begin our piece by showcasing our favorite releases first and then wrap things up with an outline of everything else afterward. Without wasting another moment of your time, we’ll dive right into it!

Our favorite releases this week

BetterCC – $1.50

Control Center isn’t as customizable as we think it should be out of the box, especially since it’s designed to be a time-saving power feature, so users should be able to tailor it to their unique workflows.

BetterCC is a jailbreak tweak that lets users customize the Control Center layout, adjust module sizes, and integrate weather information into the interface, among other things.

You can learn more about BetterCC and what it’s capable of in our full review post.

DarkPapers – FREE

Apple only provides a small selection of still wallpapers that offer both dark and light mode-supported variants, so why not extend the selection with a jailbreak add-on?

DarkPapers provides up to 10 additional wallpaper packs for the still category of wallpapers that each support dark and light mode variants.

You can find out more about DarkPapers and what it can offer you in our full review post.

He then released unc0ver v8.0.1 with a fix for a false “unsupported” message on A12-equipped handsets running iOS 14.6. Version 8.0.2 was then released to improve exploit reliability.
