Not long after security researcher Linus Henze released a much-anticipated untether for the jailbreak community to take advantage of on certain versions of iOS & iPadOS 14, hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd acted quickly to launch a new version of his jailbreak tool, and it wasn’t just a coincidence.
For the jailbreak community, a lot happened this past week. From Linus Henze's untether taking the spotlight, to various jailbreak tweaks being released and featured right here on iDownloadBlog, there’s a lot to digest.
Having the ability to translate between two different languages can be an invaluable asset, especially if you’ve been shirking on foreign language studies.
When you miss a call on your iPhone, the Phone app tells you who the caller was and when they called. But one thing it doesn’t show you is how long the caller waited for you to pick up before ending the call.
One of the significant upgrades we see in iOS & iPadOS 15 is Focus, which is essentially an upgraded version of the handy Do Not Disturb feature with powerful settings so that users can filter incoming notifications to just those that suit their current activities.
Focus eliminates distractions when you don’t want them, such as when you’re in class, at work, or just trying to enjoy an evening or weekend with the family. But if you’re jailbroken, then iOS & iPadOS 15 are out of the question right now, and that’s why iOS developer Elias Sfeir just released a new jailbreak tweak dubbed SmartDND.
The iPhone’s native Phone app contains a list of all recent phone calls, both incoming and outgoing. It’s a handy feature for checking your call history, but it’s certainly limited in its capacity to serve users.
Anyone who finds themselves overwhelmed with the sudden urge to just start annotating things, especially in the middle of a screen recording that you’re capturing for a friend or family member, would be likely to appreciate a newly released and free-to-download jailbreak tweak dubbed Dr4w by iOS developer Sugiuta.
iOS developer MiRO92 recognized that the phone-calling experience on iPhones (even the latest and greatest ones) left quite a bit to be desired. As a result, a new and free jailbreak tweak called YellowPages was conceived.
The Dock is something that most iPhone users would associate with the Home Screen, especially because it’s been present there since the dawn of the iPhone in 2007.
But would you like it if the Dock became accessible from other places? That’s the idea, at least, with a new jailbreak tweak being called DockLS by iOS developer ginsudev.
Depending on how you use your iPhone or iPad, you might have a preferred way to listen to audio in one app that differs from how you listen to audio in another app. For example, you might prefer using a Bluetooth speaker for the Music app, but prefer using your AirPods to listen to YouTube video how-tos, etc.
If your iPhone is jailbroken and you’re interested in a free and convenient way to upgrade that stock-looking Lock Screen of yours, then a great place to start would be with a new jailbreak tweak release called WeatherLS by iOS developer ginsudev.
Much of the jailbreak community is waiting in suspense after Apple officially released iOS & iPadOS 15 near the end of September, and this has certainly had an impact on the frequency of jailbreak related news and releases as well.
