If you’re still rocking an older version of the YouTube app on a jailbroken installation of iOS 12 or 13, then you’ve likely started seeing a new prompt by the YouTube app that wants you to update to the latest version of the app.
Here to the rescue is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called LetMePass by iOS developer 0xilis that allows users to totally bypass an annoying pop-up message, which is shown above.
This annoying pop-up message, which says, “Update Required. You must update the app to continue” with the only two options to bypass the pop-up being to quit the app or to update it, doesn’t allow users to move past it without performing YouTube’s desired move.
Because of this, users who want to stay on lower versions of software have frequently relied on app version spoofing methods to keep using what they use, but these days, this is more likely to cause the app to crash.
Enter LetMePass, a simple jailbreak tweak that bypasses the pop-up without any app version spoofing required, so that you can keep using YouTube without changing anything on your part.
LetMePass is completely free and open source under the MIT license on the project’s GitHub page, and it supports rootful jailbreaks on iOS & iPadOS 12 and 13. The developer says that it doesn’t support rootless jailbreaks on newer firmware since iOS & iPadOS 15 and later can already run the latest version of YouTube.
