Jailbreak tweaks of the week: Sydney, TextSearchPro2, & more…

If there’s one thing you just know we love doing here at iDownloadBlog, it’s ensuring that our readers are always kept current on the latest jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak-based news.

In this roundup, we’ll be going over all the latest developments spanning the week of Monday, May 2nd to Sunday, May 8th. We’ll be starting things off with a discussion about our favorite releases and then wrap things up with a roundup of everything else afterward.

Our favorite releases this week

Sydney – $1.99

Sydney is a revolutionary new jailbreak tweak that grants users with the ability to customize their Apple Pay user experience.

The tweak not only lets users set custom backgrounds for their Apple Pay payment cards, but also to customize the card names, logos, and even spoof the card numbers (visually). With full support for theming, even theme creators can make some wicked cool stuff for your Apple Pay payment cards.

You can learn everything you need to know about Sydney and how it works in our full review post.

TextSearchPro2 – $1.99

Sometimes you’re browsing an app or a website and want a deeper explanation into something you’ve read, or perhaps you want to quickly translate something from one language to another?

TextSearchPro2 is a jailbreak tweak that brings convenient search and translation features to the iOS & iPadOS platform by way of the native action menu and Control Center.

You can learn all about TextSearchPro2 and how it works in our full review post.

Everything else from this week

AltServer Update: AltServer was updated to version 1.5 on Tuesday to support sideloading to multiple devices with the same Apple ID, AltJIT, and a plethora of other changes.

AltStore Update: AltStore was updated to version 1.5 on Friday to support Trusted Sources and AltJIT, among other bug fixes and improvements.

Best Flashlight Jailbreak Tweaks: iDB showcases what we believe are some of the best jailbreak tweaks for augmenting the flashlight feature of your pwned iOS or iPadOS 14 device.

CoolStar: Odyssey Team lead developer CoolStar said there’s a chance that Taurine could pick up support for up to and including iOS & iPadOS 14.8.1 by way of Åkerblom’s new kernel exploit.

kok3shi Jailbreak: The kok3shi jailbreak picked up support for A9 devices running iOS 9.3.x, the first jailbreak of its kind to do so.

TyphoonCon 22: Odyssey Team lead developer CoolStar and iOS vulnerability researcher tihmstar are planing to give a joint presentation at TyphoonCon 22 in June about jailbreaking.

As this week’s roundup comes to a close, we’d like to remind everyone that there are some useful kernel exploits in the wild and at least two different jailbreak teams working on iOS & iPadOS 15 jailbreaks, so staying patient even as you remain on vanilla devices is advised.
