Some of the best jailbreak tweaks for charging iOS 14

Previously, iDownloadBlog showed you what we believed were some of the best jailbreak tweaks for tricking out the battery level indicator on your jailbroken iOS 14 device.

But there’s another important element to this experience that we believe warrants a separate post, and that is: tweaks that improve the user experience of charging your pwned iOS 14 device.

While no one likes being tethered to a power source all the time, the good news is that jailbreak tweaks can make it more fun to charge your iPhone or iPad either by augmenting animations or changing the device’s charging behavior. That’s what this list of add-ons will do.

The best jailbreak tweaks for iOS 14’s charging experience

MagSafe Enabler – FREE

If you have a jailbroken iPhone running iOS 14 that doesn’t support MagSafe charging, then you can use a brilliant jailbreak tweak called MagSafe Enabler to enable the MagSafe charging animation on that device.

The way this works is simple: while it won’t give your iPhone MagSafe charging capabilities, it will give it the same charging animations that a MagSafe-capable iPhone would exhibit when connecting to a MagSafe power source — even when connecting it to a non-MagSafe charger.

Electrifying – FREE

If you liked the tweak above, but you appreciate a higher degree of customization, then Electrifying might be for you.

This tweak lets you customize the MagSafe charging animation and upgrades the native Low Power alert to something much more aesthetically pleasing.

SpeedrunTime – FREE

When you decide to ignore all the flashy power alerts and warnings that come across your screen because you’re too enthralled in a movie or video game, then it can be a real bummer when your device just shuts down on you.

SpeedrunTime is a free jailbreak tweak that gives you one final warning at 1% battery life that it’s time to speedily run to your charger. Of course, if you ignore this final warning, there isn’t much more we can do to help you.

Total Charge Tones – FREE

When you know that your iPhone or iPad will be charging for a while, it’s easy to set it and forget it. But your device really doesn’t need to be connected to a power source all day long.

Total Charge Tones is a handy jailbreak tweak that plays a sound of your choice when your device finishes charging. It’s great for knowing when to disconnect from power when your device no longer needs it.

Axe – FREE

Whether your iPhone or iPad is charging or discharging, the battery level percentage will rise or fall accordingly.

Axe is a simple jailbreak tweak that colorizes the Status Bar and Lock Screen battery level indicator with a slow-shifting color gradient that changes from bright green to dark red rather than solid green all the way until 20% charge and below.

You can learn more about Axe and how it works in our full review post.

PowerUp – FREE

PowerUp is a free jailbreak tweak that claims to help jailbreakers charge their devices faster by putting the device in question into a hibernation-like state when connected to a power source.

The idea behind PowerUp is to reduce battery discharge while charging, and as a result, getting to a full charge should take less time.

BatteryHealthEnabler(iPad/iPod) – FREE

Continuously charging and discharging your iPhone or iPad’s battery will, over time, have an impact on the battery’s health and overall capacity.

Apple provides a Battery Health section in the Settings app on iPhones to monitor this degradation, but not on iPod touches or iPads running iOS or iPadOS 14. BatteryHealthEnabler(iPad/iPod) simply enables it for those devices.

SmartBattery 2 – $1.99

SmartBattery 2 is a jailbreak tweak that upgrades the battery experience on your jailbroken iOS or iPadOS 14 device in more ways than we can list, but one of our favorite features it offers is that it can estimate how long it’ll take before your device reaches a full charge while plugged in.

Other useful charging features afforded by SmartBattery 2 are a notification sound when fully charged, information about your current charger, smart charging capabilities to increase charging speed, and more.

You can learn all about SmartBattery 2 and what it offers for end users in our full review post.

Vaon – FREE

In addition to charging your iPhone or iPad, you’ll also need to charge all of its accessories on a regular basis if you expect to continue using them.

Vaon is a nice add-on for the App Switcher that continuously displays a Battery widget-like percentage readout at the bottom of the interface.

Conclusion

While we wish we could continue on, we wanted to keep our list to a readable length by mentioning only those that we have really enjoyed using. Having said that, there are certainly more tweaks out there that can improve the charging experience on iOS or iPadOS 14.
