For me, there is never enough time in the week to get through all the great apps and games that come out. Even some of my favorite titles get lost in a folder somewhere as I make room for the next batch of cool stuff.
If you need inspiration for a Mother’s Day gift, want a good app for storing and organzing PDFs, or are just looking for some fun games to play this weekend, we’ve got a list of apps and games to help you out…
Adobe Voice
This app is the perfect way to show your mom just how much she means to you. You can add your own voice to pictures of the family and set the whole thing to music. The results will bring a tear to any mother’s eye. Users can select from more than 25,000 pictures, illustrations, and animations or add their own images. The app features dozens of customizable themes and layouts as well as a plethora of complimentary soundtracks that match the mood of the story. This app is available on the iPad for free.
Noisli
Nothing makes me sleep better at night than the relaxing sound of a babbling brook, or the rhythmic chirp of a million crickets. If you like to fall asleep listening to nature, but are afraid to leave your window open at night, you should check out Noisli. Choose from 16 different nature sounds, including ocean waves, campfire, rustling leaves, and more. Mix and match combinations of sounds to create your perfect nighttime playlist. Who would have thought that the sound of a fan blowing worked so well with the sound of birds chirping? Set a timer to turn off the app after you’ve already fallen asleep. This app is available for $0.99.
Cinamatic
Hipstamatic has got a new bee in its bonnet. The trendy retro camera company is focusing its sights on video now. This app lets you record three to 15-second clips and combine them together to make your own mini movie. Add one of the interesting filters based on movie footage that only a film student would know. Then, share your short on Facebook, Instagram, Vine, and more. Just like Hipstamatic’s other apps, you can add a wide variety of additional filter packs for $0.99 each. This app is available for $1.99.
GoodReader 4
I’m sure I’ve mentioned in the past that I love GoodReader. It’s been my go-to PDF reader for as long as I’ve owned my iPad. I store my role-playing game books, my knitting patterns, and a whole lot more. This new version comes with all the great features of the original, plus a few new ones that might bring you over to the dark side. The PDF Manager lets you add, rearrange, delete, rotate, and email individual pages. The PDF Page Slider now shows page previews and the tool area can now be hidden. Use the PDF button to create an empty file for notes and drawings. This app is on sale for $2.99.
Adventure to Fate: A Quest to the Core JRPG
Any game that has “JRPG” in the title has got to be good. We’re getting into deep levels of gaming geekery now. In this tiny adventure, players can create a unique character from five different races and classes using an old-school style roller. Explore four large themed zones, each with its own town with shops, libraries, portals, and more. Head out on a variety of dungeon crawls with 70 unique monsters, 20 boss fights, random encounters, and secret passageways. For the greedy Gus, there are hundreds of unique loot items that you can use to customize your character, including rare and unique items that increase your stats. This game is available for $1.99.
SeQu
Maybe you are the kind of person that loves to play puzzle games, but you don’t want people thinking you go in for that kids’ stuff. Sequ is a challenging puzzle game that looks like a complicated math problem. Your friends will envy your brain power. The goal of this game is to fill as many boxes as you can by moving different directions. The first box you touch is number one. Then move vertically, horizontally, and diagonally with the skip two or skip one rules to try to get all boxes on the grid filled in. This game is available for free.
remi.
This app is so super productive that it doesn’t even waste time with a full name. Brevity is the soul of speed, my friend. This attractive reminders app lets you quickly get down your thoughts before they float out of your head. Reminders are represented as floating bubbles that grow through time. Tap the largest bubble to see what is coming up next. Use natural language to create task quickly. Set alerts to get notifications when a task is due. This app is available for $0.99.
