Jailbreak tweaks of the week: CCCalc, Electrode, Spore, & more…

Things have been a little slower than usual in the jailbreak community for the past two weeks, but that’s par for the course when we’re just around the corner from a major iOS software update — namely iOS & iPadOS 15 this Fall.

Despite that, this past week surprised us with some exciting jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak-based news. We intend to share everything new with you in this convenient all-in-one roundup to help ensure you don’t miss any of it.

In this week’s roundup, we go over the latest jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak news from this past week, from Monday, August 2nd to Sunday, August 8th. As always, we’ll kick things off with our favorite releases first and then get to everything else afterward.

Our favorite releases this week

CCCalc for iOS 14 – FREE

CCCalc for iOS 14 is a free add-on for Control Center that gives the interface its own dedicated Calculator module.

Once installed, tapping on the Control Center Calculator shortcut no longer opens the Calculator app, but rather opens a dedicated interface as shown above.

You can learn more about CCCalc for iOS 14 in our full review post.

Electrode – FREE

Electrode is a really simple jailbreak tweak that transforms your iPhone’s low power alerts into Toasts – the same type of pop-ups that resemble switching between ring and silent mode on your iPhone or attaching an Apple Pencil to your iPad Pro to charge.

These Toasts are not only nicer to look at, but they take up less space and are less intrusive.

You can learn more about Electrode and where you can get it in our full review post.

NotLiveText – $1.50

iOS 15 provides users with a slick machine learning-based text recognition feature in the Photos app, but most jailbreakers who are on iOS 14 have no plans to upgrade this Fall.

NotLiveText is a jailbreak tweak that ports this feature to jailbroken iOS 14 devices, which means that even those on iOS 14 can enjoy the same great feature without having to upgrade to a non-jailbreakable firmware this Fall.

You can learn everything you need to know about NoLiveText, including how it works, in our full review.

Spore – $1.99

Spore is a new must-have jailbreak tweak that can be used to secure your most valuable apps with a passcode and biometric authentication. More specifically, it hides those apps in a secret place in which you must authenticate yourself to access.

This tweak is great for individuals who share their jailbroken device with others, or for those who are forced not to have a passcode or biometric authentication because of using checkra1n to jailbreak an A11-equipped device on iOS or iPadOS 14.

You can learn more about Spore and why it should be the next jailbreak tweak you install in our full review post.
