Jailbreak tweaks of the week: AdvancedBrightnessSlider, PencilBanners, & more…

Just this past week, Apple unveiled the spectacular new iPhone 13 lineup and scheduled an official release date for iOS & iPadOS 15 on this coming Monday. Despite the upcoming changes, the jailbreak community continues to hang in there.

In this piece, we’ll showcase all the latest jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak-oriented news breaks transpiring between Monday, September 13th and Sunday, September 19th.

As usual, we’ll kick this post off with our favorite releases from this past week, and then we’ll outline everything else of importance afterward.

Our favorite releases this week

AdvancedBrightnessSlider – FREE

I often use the Reduce White Point feature in iOS’ accessibility settings to drop my handset’s display brightness lower than the Control avenger display brightness slider is capable of. But using it can be cumbersome.

AdvancedBrightnessSlider is a free jailbreak tweak that integrates this highly useful feature directly into Control Center’s display brightness slider. As such, you can drag the slider below a certain brightness threshold to toggle the accessibility feature.

Harpy Reloaded – $1.99

Harpy Reloaded is a powerful app-based utility for jailbroken iPhones and iPads that lets the user manage devices connected to their local Wi-Fi network and/or personal hotspot.

This add-on checks several important boxes, including viewing detailed device information and booting people you don’t want on your network off.

PencilBanners – $1.50

PencilBanners is a new jailbreak tweak that draws inspiration from the Apple Pencil charging banner UI and applies it to various other aspects of the iOS and iPadOS mobile operating systems.

Among the things the tweak supports are state changes for Dark Mode, Do Not Disturb, Low Power Mode, specific battery levels, background media playback changes, app launches, and a whole lot more. The tweak is highly configurable.

Everything else from this week

Everything appears to be accounted for as we near the end of this week’s jailbreak-centric roundup. If it looks a little lean, then don’t fret — lulls are normal around this time of the year as Apple prepares major software updates and project launches. These will typically fuel new ideas in the jailbreak community for the foreseeable future.
