Lithium Ion lets you theme your battery indicator without Winterboard

Lithium Ion is a new free jailbreak tweak that provides you with nearly limitless customization of the battery indicator in your Status Bar on any of your jailbroken devices.

With this tweak, you can choose from new colors and themes for the indicator and apply them faster than you can say "done." Plenty of themes are included out of the box that you can pick from and then further customize with different colors depending on your current battery level, and you don't even need Winterboard to do it.

DayNightSwitch adds a day/night theme to toggle switches in iOS

DayNightSwitch is a new free jailbreak tweak that adds a little bit of character to the toggle switches throughout iOS you use on a regular basis by theming their on and off positions to reflect day or night.

With the tweak installed, you're going to notice switches that get toggled to the "on" position display a blue sky with a little Sun and cloud icon, and switches that get toggled to the "off" position display a black sky with a little Moon icon and stars in the background.

AppDye 2 subtly throws a splash of color across the UI in iOS

Adding a splash of color to the various UI elements throughout iOS 9 has never been as easy as it is with a new jailbreak tweak called AppDye 2.

With this tweak, you can colorize many parts of iOS based off of a single color you choose, or you can color your apps on a per-app basis with individual color schemes. Among some of the things that the tweak can modify the color of are:

Cleo brings a rich alternative styling to Control Center

One of my absolute favorite parts about jailbreaking is how creative developers are able to manipulate iOS' UI and animations to look so much nicer than they do out of the box, all while still containing all of the necessary functionality you need and demand.

A new jailbreak tweak release called Cleo does this by giving Control Center a sexy new look and feel.

ThemeStore tweak lets you customize various aspects of the App Store

ThemeStore is a new customization platform intended specifically for the App Store app on your jailbroken iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. With it, you'll not only be able to customize the look of the App Store, but you'll also find some functional goodies packed inside of it.

We'll walk you through some of the features of ThemeStore in this review so you can decide if it's the tweak for you.

Installing themes on your iPhone without a jailbreak

Theming your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad has been a long time primary reason of jailbreaking. Unfortunately, as the wait for a new jailbreak becomes ever so longer in between iOS releases, the jailbreak scene is becoming less reliable for getting the features you want on the latest version of iOS.

For those who are tired of waiting, iSkin is a new platform that can be used directly from your Safari web browser to install themes on your iOS device without a jailbreak, and we'll show you how it's used in this tutorial.

This tweak lets you copy the Bundle ID of apps with 3D Touch

Those that are into theming or other jailbreak-based device modifications that may require knowledge of app bundle IDs may find a new use for a jailbreak tweak dubbed CopyBundleID.

With this tweak, getting the bundle ID of an app has never been easier. We'll walk you through the tweak and show you how it works all in this short review.

Veexillum: a theme of simple uniformity

For quite a while, I didn't have much of an interest in iOS themes. Many of the icon packs available in Cydia seemed rather mediocre and did little to improve on iOS's stock design – at least, that's how it appeared to me. Those that did look nice often don't have a very large number of themed apps, while others had designs so different from the average iOS icon that unthemed apps stood out as ghastly reminders of a lack of design uniformity.

My ideal theme wouldn't stray too far from the current state of iOS, would have several hundred themed icons, and would be simple and uniform enough to compliment my Home screen without making every app look the same and particularly without removing easily discernible colors and glyphs that make an app easy to spot from the rest so I can remain efficient when using my device. Because of these requirements, my ideal theme is undoubtedly Veexillum.

Fingal brings your app icons to life

Take a moment to look at the Home screen on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad; what do you see? Some things that come to my mind are: stillness, simplicity, and boredom.

With a promising new jailbreak tweak release dubbed Fingal, which is now available as a free download in Cydia's ModMyi repository, you can add a touch of motion and liveliness to your Home screen.

The best WinterBoard themes for iOS 9

Theming has long been a part of the jailbreak community, with designers exercising their creativity by redesigning various elements of iOS. From icons to system glyphs, WinterBoard has the power to transform the aesthetics of the user interface on an iPhone or iPad.

With the release of iOS 9, designers have been updating existing themes and releasing new ones, many of which we’ve looked through to bring you some of the best Winterboard themes for iOS 9 in Cydia. While everyone’s visual preferences are different, here are some of the best-looking themes available, per your author’s tastes.

LockPlus: an upcoming WYSIWYG Lock screen theme maker

One of the most difficult things that jailbreakers can do is put together a decent looking theme. Sure, all in one themes like Ayeris make it easy, but building a fully themed iPhone piece-by-piece is a little more challenging.

And then there's the fact that there are so many type of themes. There's SpringBoard themes, Lock screen themes, app-specific themes, etc. There's really a lot to plan out and think about when it comes to successfully theming a jailbroken iPhone.

Well, a new theming solution is aiming to change this—at least when it comes to theming the Lock screen. LockPlus is a soon-to-be-released theming solution created by @JunesiPhone and based on Cydget. It allows you to create full Lock screen themes using a simple WYSIWYG web editor.
