AT&T Expected to Merge With T-Mobile in “First Half” of Next Year

AT&T has leaked its estimation for when the T-Mobile merger will close in a recent filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Spotted by Electronista, the filing says that AT&T expects the merger to take place in the "first half" of 2012.

Several organizations, including the US Justice Department, have kept AT&T and T-Mobile battling with the courts since AT&T announced the acquisition back in March. If all goes according to plan, T-Mobile will be owned by AT&T before Spring of next year...

Apple Reveals iPhone 4S and October 14th Launch Date on its Website

This is just too good to be true. Apple has posted the iPhone 4S, associated images, and an October 14th launch date on its online store.

Apple's Japanese site has been updated with the iPhone 4S running iOS 5 in the image mockup. The image looks identical to the iPhone 4. Apple has also posted an October 14th launch date.

Gizmodo has done it again. The same site that got its hands on the iPhone 4 before it was released has also procured images of what is assumedly a new iPhone to be announced on Tuesday.

The device, codenamed 'N90A', is not the iPhone 4S (codenamed 'N94). That device is still coming, but this photo is of the cheaper 8GB iPhone 4 that will be launched next week, too.

iPhone 4S Magically Appears in Apple’s Database

It looks like the next iPhone could very well be called the iPhone 4S, according to a finding in Apple's internal inventory database. 9to5Mac reports that a 8GB iPhone 4 and the infamous 'N94' iPhone 4S have both been added to Apple's inventory system.

Besides the two iPhone models, findings also indicate that the three iPod touch capacities will be seeing international price drops. The N94 iPhone is assumedly the flagship device that Apple will unveil on Tuesday...

Don't worry, this isn't your typical iPhone 5 rumor — we're getting just as sick of them as you are. This is a possible theory on how accessory manufacturers were able to make cases for the purported iPhone 5, months before Apple announced it.

M.I.C gadget is reporting that it has heard from an accessory shop located in Shenzhen, China that a Foxconn employee was paid to sneak the handset out of the plant. The device was then sold to a case manufacturer for roughly $3,100. Read on...

An interesting image surfaced on Weibo recently, and it has been making its way around the tech blogs this morning. The photo seems to depict the guts of an Apple product, as you can see the company's logo next to the A5 branding.

A lot of folks believe that the innards belong to the iPhone 5, but we're not so sure. As most of you know, we're expecting both a redesigned handset and a retooled iPhone 4 from Apple this Fall. And we think these parts belong to the latter...
