Apple releases iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 with Focus, redesigned notifications, and more

Most years, Apple makes a big deal about when it's going to launch the next version of its most popular platforms. Especially iOS. That wasn't so much the case this year, with the company basically announcing that September 20 would be the launch date for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 in a minor way. But, today's the day, and the next big deal for Apple's mobile operating systems is here.

CoolStar teases libhooker mostly working on iOS 15 beta 8

Just a couple of days ago, the Odyssey Team shared that it was already investing in test devices for iOS & iPadOS 15 jailbreak development. The announcement was accompanied by a photograph of an iPod touch that had been custom engraved with the words “Odyssey Team” on the back.

More recently, Odyssey Team lead developer CoolStar took to the Sileo / Taurine / Odyssey Discord channel to share that libhooker — the tweak injection method utilized by the Chimera, Odyssey, and Taurine jailbreaks for iOS 12, 13, and 14 respectively — was mostly working on iOS 15 beta 8.

Apple delays rollout of its child safety features, including the CSAM detection system

Back in August, with about as little fanfare as possible, Apple announced a trio of new features coming to iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, and watchOS 8. There are three in total, each of which fall under the company's new, concerted efforts to help protect against child abuse and sexual exploitation. And while the features were seen as a positive move in general, when it came to the specifics of one of the new features, there was a lot of pushback. And apparently it worked.
