Unc0ver jailbreak officially ‘out of beta’ following release of V1

It’s only been about a week since iOS hacker Pwn20wnd first launched the unc0ver jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3; nevertheless, it has already received a bevy of incremental updates from RC1 to RC9.

As of Saturday afternoon, however, it appears we’re officially out of the beta-esque RC stages. Pwn20wned officially launched what’s being dubbed unc0ver V1, and it apparently ties up many of the tool’s known loose ends.

Moonshine ports the Apple Watch charging animation and Nightstand Mode to iPhone

It was only yesterday that we showed you a new jailbreak tweak called SqueakTime that ported most of the Apple Watch’s watch faces to the iPhone. But as of today, there’s a new jailbreak tweak that ports the Apple Watch’s sexy semi-circular charging animation to the iPhone.

Enter Moonshine, a new and highly-anticipated jailbreak tweak by iOS developer LaughingQuoll. Not only does this tweak produce the aforementioned Apple Watch charging animation, but it also displays the current date and time in Apple Watch-style Nightstand Mode throughout the entire charging session whenever the device is awoken.

As promised, Ian Beer publicizes iOS 11.4-11.4.1-centric exploits

Matrix code hacked iPhone.

About a month ago, renowned security researcher Ian Beer announced plans to publicly release iOS 11.4-11.4.1-centric exploits as hacking focus shifted over to Apple’s newer iOS 12 release. It’s been near-radio silence since then, but as of today, those exploits are officially public.

As it would seem, Beer’s latest batch of iOS security exploits encompass the following:

SqueakTime lets you use Apple Watch faces on your iPhone’s Lock screen

While perusing the Changes tab in the Cydia Store this week, we happened upon a brand-new jailbreak tweak dubbed SqueakTime by iOS developer Andy Wiik. With it, you can replace the Lock screen’s native time indicator with official Apple Watch faces.

After you’ve installed SqueakTime, you’ll take notice of a new “Use on Lockscreen” button that appears next to every Apple Watch face preview in the native Watch app:

Relocate the Lock screen’s date and time indicator with mcClock11

Right out of the box, your iPhone centers the date and time near the top of the Lock screen interface. But if you’ve ever wanted to move the date and time indicator around to different positions on the Lock screen, then you’re in luck.

A new free jailbreak tweak called mvClock11 by iOS developer Soh lets you relocate the Lock screen’s date and time indicator anywhere you’d like.

Unc0ver RC8 released with refined code, fix for snapshot errors, and more

It was just yesterday that iOS hacker Pwn20wnd released unc0ver RC7 with essential bug fixes and improvements encompassing the RootFS Restore on iOS 11.2-11.2.6 and the MP exploit clean-up method, but as of Thursday afternoon, he’s at it again.

Pwn20wnd has just released unc0ver RC8 with a slew of other critical bug fixes and improvements, and all users are advised to download and run the latest version when they can.

This tweak makes the iOS keyboard display 50 Frequently Used Emojis

If you send and receive Emojis from your iPhone or iPad often, then you’re probably familiar with the iOS keyboard’s “Frequently Used” section.

The Frequently Used section hosts the top 30 Emojis you use most often for faster access, but with a new free jailbreak tweak called MoreFrequentlyUsedEmojis by iOS developer A_H_Rabie, you can now increase that number to 50.

Saurik updates Cydia Impactor with bug fixes and improvements

Cydia Impactor is a utility created by Saurik (Jay Freeman) for side-loading apps onto your iPhone or iPad; it’s commonly used by semi-untethered jailbreak solutions to install the app that hacks your device.

That said, it’s no surprise that we’re seeing updates for the utility following the launch of the unc0ver jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3. Saurik quietly released two updates for Cydia Impactor on two separate occasions over the weekend with bug fixes and performance improvements.
