Moonshine ports the Apple Watch charging animation and Nightstand Mode to iPhone

It was only yesterday that we showed you a new jailbreak tweak called SqueakTime that ported most of the Apple Watch’s watch faces to the iPhone. But as of today, there’s a new jailbreak tweak that ports the Apple Watch’s sexy semi-circular charging animation to the iPhone.

Enter Moonshine, a new and highly-anticipated jailbreak tweak by iOS developer LaughingQuoll. Not only does this tweak produce the aforementioned Apple Watch charging animation, but it also displays the current date and time in Apple Watch-style Nightstand Mode throughout the entire charging session whenever the device is awoken.

Right out of the box, Moonshine turns your iPhone into the perfect bedside companion for a quick glance at the time and charge level. The pitch-black background and light green text are friendly to the eyes in any environment, including a pitch-black bedroom in the dead of night.

Curious about how it looks? LaughingQuoll shared the following demo video on YouTube for those interested:

Given the nature of the black background, Moonshine seems to look the best on a jailbroken iPhone X with the OLED display; nevertheless, it should work on all jailbroken iOS 11 devices, even those with LCD displays.

As of this writing, Moonshine is in its beta stages. LaughingQuoll is planning a staggered release through his Patreon program via the Packix repository, and while the initial release is available to try right now, updates containing more features and improvements will be released on October 25th and 29th respectively.

LaughingQuoll has shared that the final release will be available to download from Cydia’s Packix repository for a one-time purchase of $2.00 on November 1st. If you aren’t interested in signing up for the Patreon early-access program, then simply wait until the aforementioned date.
