BatteryColor brings battery percentage-centric dynamic colorization to the Status Bar indicator

Among the plethora of icons that live in your iPhone’s Status Bar, the battery level indicator just might be one of the most critical. The battery level indicator does its job just fine on a stock installation of iOS, but if you’re jailbroken, then why stop there?

A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed BatteryColor by iOS developer Chasewhip enhances the aesthetic of your iPhone’s battery level indicator by giving it a dynamic color gradient that changes depending on your current battery percentage.

NFCWriter X lets hobbyists and tinkerers unlock the iPhone’s full NFC potential

Just over a year ago, iOS developer Elias Limneos announced a ground-breaking jailbreak tweak called NFCWriter that enabled iPhone users to tap into the full potential of the NFC (Near Field Communication) chip embedded within their handset. This week, Limneos continues that fun with NFCWriter X for iOS, which can only be described as the latest iteration of the tweak.

NFCWriter X for iOS is intended for advanced users and tinkerers with an interest in playing around with NFC tags, Credit/Debit Cards, MRTD documents, and more directly from your iPhone. Nearly anything with NFC support can be tinkered with by NFCWriter X for iOS.

unc0ver V1.0.3 released with fixes for known issues on beta firmware versions

iOS hacker Pwn20wnd has been releasing a steady stream of updates for the unc0ver jailbreak tool since its conception, and it has come to our attention that another update for the tool was released Tuesday afternoon.

Citing a couple of Tweets shared by Pwn20wnd not too long ago, unc0ver V1.0.3 apparently resolves a few issues known to occur on supported beta firmware versions and further improves the RootFS Restore feature:

Unc0ver V1.0.2 released with fix for RootFS Restore issues on iOS 11.0-11.2.6 devices

Over the weekend, Pwn20wnd released unc0ver V1.0.1 to disable the integrated RootFS Restore feature because of a problem that appeared to impact certain handsets running firmware versions between iOS 11.0 and 11.2.6. But as it would seem, the clever hacker found a way to circumvent it.

In a bevy of Tweets shared Monday afternoon, Pwn20wnd denoted how the problem appeared impact handsets with pending OTA updates downloaded on them. Upon discerning the cause of the issue, the hacker responded by releasing unc0ver V1.0.2.

Unc0ver V1.0.1 released to address an issue with the integrated RootFS Restore feature

It was only yesterday that Pwn20wnd’s unc0ver jailbreak for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3 was officially brought out of its beta stages, but the tool has since received its first update following the release of V1.

Sunday’s update, dubbed unc0ver V1.0.1, aims to prevent known problems with the RootFS Restore feature on iOS 11.0-11.1.2 handsets. As it would seem, it was implemented in an unsafe manner that compelled some users to restore via iTunes and lose their jailbreak.
