If you own a Kindle Paperwhite, there may come a time when you want information about the device. Whether you need to troubleshoot a problem, want to see if you have the latest firmware, or simply want to know how much space you have left, it’s easier than you might think.
Here, we’ll show you how to find your serial number, firmware version, and available space on Kindle Paperwhite.
Open Device Info on your Kindle
The quickest way to gather details about your Kindle Paperwhite is on the device itself. And luckily, you’ll see all three pieces of the above information in the Device Info section of your Settings.
1) Wake up your Kindle Paperwhite and access the toolbar at the top.
2) Open the Settings by tapping Settings (gear icon) in the toolbar and picking All Settings or tapping the Menu button (three dots) on the top right and selecting Settings.
3) Choose Device Options.
4) Pick Device Info.
A small window pops open that displays the information you need. You’ll see the Wi-Fi address, serial number, firmware version, and space available.
Update your Kindle
If you’re running an older version of firmware or aren’t sure if it needs updating, you can check easily in the Advanced Options of the Settings.
Follow the same Steps 1 through 3 above. Then select Advanced Options. If the Update Your Kindle option is selectable, then you can tap it to update your device. If it’s grayed out, then you have the most current version for your device.
