When Apple unveiled their multitasking bar in iOS 4.0, they were fairly late to the party. As with multiple features, the jailbreak scene had already had multitasking apps like Backgrounder out for a while. Although it was belated, a lot of people really took a liking to Apple's new multitasking support.

Then there are people like me, who are constantly searching for a better alternative for switching between applications. Sure, there are apps like Stacks and Dock that make multitasking easier, but is there anything else available?

If you haven't discovered how awesome DropBox is just yet, I highly recommend checking it out. The ability to sync content from your iPhone to your computer without wires or multiple steps makes transferring photos and other media a snap.

Not only is the service free, but you constantly have folks in the jailbreak community developing neat extensions for it. Icy Cydia Alternative Makes a Comeback

That's right folks, the silky smooth Cydia alternative is back up and running. For folks who have been around the jailbreak scene for a while, you undoubtedly remember Icy. The dpkg installer worked similar to Cydia, but always seemed faster and more refined than its counterpart.

Since Cydia and Rock joined forces, there really hasn't been any competition in the jailbroken app store industry. Icy is looking to change that by returning to the scene with a fresh coat of paint. Does it have what it takes to be a worthy challenger after being gone for so long?

Mario Look-A-Like Visits the App Store

Most people agree that if something looks like a duck, smells like a duck, and tastes like a duck, then it's a duck. That cliche saying doesn't seem to fit so well in this situation. Monino looks like Mario, sounds and acts like Mario, but he sure isn't Mario.

The application some how snuck into the App Store and has been making noise around the internet ever since. It isn't garnering attention for its amazing game play, but for the amazing amount of copyright and trademark laws it seems to be breaking. How long do you think it'll survive in the App Store?

Air Penguin for iPhone is the Latest Bird Game Sensation to Hit the App Store

First there was Angry Birds, then Tiny Wings, and now a new bird-related game has joined the App Store's flock. Air Penguin is a relatively new phenomenon that now sits comfortably in the top ten list of paid apps in the App Store.

What makes Air Penguin so great? Nothing really sets the game apart from the other feather-filled apps that came before it, but Air Penguin is a great example one thing: a really fun game.

ScreenSaver Gives Your iPhone… Well… You Get the Idea

It's not real hard to figure out what an app called ScreenSaver does. The Cydia application has been making some noise around the web the last few days, so we figured we should mention it on iDB.

For those who don't know, ScreenSaver takes .mov files stored in its Library folder and automatically plays them when the iPhone auto-locks itself. It sounds pretty cool, but does it really work as advertised?

Tweetdeck for iPhone Gets a Huge Makeover with New Features

The popular Twitter client for the iPhone, Tweetdeck, has significantly upgraded to version 2.0. As one of the original third party Twitter apps, Tweetdeck has been a fan favorite client in the App Store for a long time.

Auto Location Will Automatically Turn the iPhone’s Location Services On and Off

Lucky for you, there's a new jailbreak tweak called Auto Location that automatically toggles your iPhone's Location Services on and off. When you're not using an app that requires GPS, Auto Location will turn the iPhone's Location Services off. When you open an app that requires Location Services, Auto Location turns it back on...

NFL Finally Releases Official iPad Application

While an NFL season is questionable, the draft seems to be right on schedule. On April 28th, last year's top college football players will participate in the NFL Draft where players are selected by professional teams.

The NFL iPad app will allow you to watch live video of the draft, along with several other great features. You can check which positions your favorite team needs help in and view a detailed breakdown of each player that gets drafted. You can even set the application to alert you when your favorite team is up for selection.

Outside of the exclusive draft coverage, the application is pretty bare. There is a section where you can read general news and view the entire NFL schedule, but that's pretty much it.

If a 2011 season does go on as planned, the NFL has mentioned that there will be a lot more content pushed out to users via an update. You'll most likely get the usual cocktail of features like in-game highlights and up to the minute league scoreboards.

I would be interested to see Fantasy Football get integrated into the application. Maybe even throw in some audio clips of popular players that are wearing microphones throughout the game.

Although it's kind of on the light side right now, if you're planning on watching the draft next week, this application would make a nice accessory. NFL 2011 for iPad is free to download from the App Store.
