The WSJ says LTE iPad 3 is a go for Verizon and AT&T

One of the most controversial rumors regarding the upcoming iPad 3 has been whether or not the tablet will feature 4G technology. While countries like the US and Canada have growing LTE networks, others won't see the tech for at least a year.

Tonight, the Wall Street Journal seemingly puts an end to the speculation. The world-renown newspaper is reporting that it has confirmed that both Verizon and AT&T flavored iPad 3s will include the next-generation wireless technology...

We've heard a couple of theories over the last few months regarding when Apple would finally unveil its next-generation tablet. Though earlier rumors suggested we could see the next iPad as early as February, most of the chatter now points to an early March launch.

Parts retailer confirms that leaked iPad 3 components could be the real deal

We've seen a lot of evidence over the past few weeks that suggests that we are very close to seeing Apple unveil its next-generation tablet. Among that evidence are several "leaked" iPad 3 components, including a display panel and rear shell casing.

Now the same parts retailer that leaked the Sharp-made high resolution display last week has confirmed that the screen actually fits in the back shell casing, adding more credibility to its story that these are in fact iPad 3 components...

Meijer drops the price of the iPad 2 to $429, ahead of iPad 3

As the iPad 3 launch comes closer this Spring, retailer Meijer has dropped the price of the iPad 2 by $70, to $429. Meijer will be offering the deal from February 12 - 18 according to one ad, and February 12 - 25 according to the listing of the iPad 2 on Meijer's website.

Meijer will also be offering $5 off of the iPad 2's Smart Cover and a free $15 iTunes Gift Card with the purchase of a $195 iPod touch...

The Next Web is out with a new report saying that Apple is pushing key developers to finishing apps. Apple is pushing these developers to finish, so they can show off their apps either at the iPad 3 announcement or in iPad 3 advertisements, says the report...

Apple employee says iPad 3 screen is “truly amazing”

Earlier today we heard a report from AllThingsD claiming that Apple's anticipated iPad 3 announcement is just a few weeks away. The site believes that we could see Apple unveil its next-generation tablet as early as the first week in March.

Now the New York Times is weighing in on the slate, claiming that it has also learned details about the next iPad. And according to its sources, the tablet's [anticipated] Retina display looks "truly amazing..."

Apple set to announce iPad 3 first week in March

We're undoubtedly nearing the announcement of whatever Apple has up its sleeve for the next generation iPad, and now new claims suggest we're just a few short weeks away from the big day.

John Paczkowski of AllThingsD now believes that Apple will hold a press event first week in March, with the iPad 3/iPad 2S/iPad Super Epic Edition being made available for purchase soon after. If the iPad 2 release is any kind of indicator, we wouldn't expect to have to wait any longer than two weeks from the announcement before queuing up to buy one.

As is always the case, Apple refused to comment on the speculation, though it is an open secret that the next generation iPad is very much on the horizon...

More evidence that iPad 3 production is in full swing

It seems like it's been raining iPad 3 rumors over the past couple of days. Yesterday we heard that the upcoming tablet may not include the quad-core processor we've been anticipating. And we also saw a purported image of the slate's backing.

Then last night, both 9to5Mac and Apple.pro posted photos of what they claim to be next-generation iPad components. The pictures show both the front and the back of the tablet's shell, as well as what appears to be Smart Cover magnets...
