If you are looking to sell your iPad 2, now is the time

With Apple expected to unveil the iPad 3 on March 7th next month, it's time to start thinking about what you're going to do with your current tablet. As you may know, if you plan on purchasing the new iPad, you can sell your old one to help cover the cost.

For those of you that are planning on selling your current tablet, you're going to want to put it up for sale as quick as possible. Because according to Gazelle, a popular electronics re-seller, iPad prices are at their peak right now...

Rumor: images leaked of the iPad 3’s Retina display in production

We know, these iPad 3 rumors are starting to get a bit ridiculous. In the last two days we've seen images of the purported tablet, and learned that its processor may (or may not) be called the A5X.

Now 9to5Mac is reporting that it has come across photos of what appears to be an iPad 3 Retina display production line. The images were uncovered on a Chinese forum along with some interesting details regarding the tablet...

iPad 3 to have A5X processor?

The iPad 3's processor is assumed to be called the 'A6', following Apple's recent history. The iPhone 4 has the A4 processor and both the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S have the A5 processor. The iPad 3 featuring an A6 processor makes sense.

However, according to a leaked image on Chinese forum WeiPhone, the iPad 3 will have an A5X processor, rather than A6...

Pictures of iPad 3 leaked: more tapered edges and upgraded camera?

There have been plenty of rumors surrounding iPad 3 specs and launch date. The iPad 3 is rumored to have a Retina display, upgraded cameras, LTE, possibility of Siri, and a quad-core processor. Apple is rumored to announce the iPad 3 on March 7th, and ship it a few days later.

Tonight, Apple Daily has leaked some pretty interesting pictures of what they say is the iPad 3. They have posted a supposed over-head image of the iPad 3, revealing slightly more tapered edges and redesigned camera...

iOS 5.1 to launch with new Notes app?

iOS 5.1 is rumored to launch around the same time as the iPad 3, with an abundance of new features. The new features include Japanese language support for Siri, a new camera slide button on the home screen, and the possibility of Siri support on the iPad 3. iOS 5.1 has been in beta for quite awhile, but hasn't hinted at any of these features.

iPhone Hellas has reportedly obtained a screenshot of a new robust note taking app that will be launched on iOS 5.1.

iPad 3 Retina Display confirmed

After months of speculation, it appears that it has now been confirmed that Apple's next tablet will feature a Retina display.

The confirmation comes from the folks over at MacRumors, who have just gotten their hands on one of the purported iPad 3 display panels that have been floating around China for the past few weeks...

The Kindle Fire is gaining market share but the iPad remains the king

Some interesting news has been released today regarding the recent success of the Kindle Fire, Amazon's flagship tablet device. According to iSuppli, Amazon managed to grab a 14% share of the tablet market in the last financial quarter, while Apple's market share dropped from 64% in Q3 to 57% in Q4.

Apple released the iPad 2 nearly a year ago so it makes perfect sense that demand will drop as the year goes on, especially when new products like the Fire get released later in the year. I expect market share to significantly increase further in Apple's favor when iPad 3 drops...

Why we’ll finally see LTE technology in the iPhone and iPad this year

Yesterday morning, my friend and colleague Oliver Haslam laid out an interesting case for why he believes, despite overwhelming evidence, that Apple won't implement LTE technology into any of its mobile products this year.

Oliver thinks that because there aren't 4G networks in every corner of the world, and because current LTE devices suffer from issues like poor battery life, we won't be seeing LTE in the next iPad or iPhone. But I happen to think he's wrong...

Why Apple won’t give the iPhone or iPad an LTE radio. Yet.

Right, I'm going to come right out and say this before I go any further: I'm going to get a lot of stick for this, and the rest of the iDB team thinks that I've lost my mind, but I'm going to write this anyway. I don't think the iPad or iPhone is going to get an LTE radio. At least, not yet.

Now I know this flies in the face of what we are being told by just about everyone, including a very recent article by the Wall Street Journal. The general consensus is that Apple will indeed bring an iPad 3 to market during the coming weeks, and that said iPad 3 will be the first Apple device to come packed with an LTE radio for hooking up to super-fast 4G networks.

I, however, think you're all wrong. Here's why...

Rumor Roundup: what we think we know about the iPad 3 so far

To say that folks are anticipating Apple to unveil a new version of its popular tablet sometime in the near future is an understatement. The company has launched a new iPad during the first quarter in each of the last two years — folks are expecting it.

We've heard a lot of chatter over the last few months regarding what the new iPad will look like and what new features it will contain. We've heard so much gossip, in fact, that it's been hard to keep track of it all. And that's why we've put together this rumor roundup....
