New renders of alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 6 surface

New renderings of what is believed to be the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 surfaced on the web this weekend. We've seen similar drawings before, but this time around the renders have reportedly come straight from primary Apple supplier Foxconn.

The device in the images, which measures 138 x 67mm, lines up with previous information. The design is consistent with the schematic published by MacFan last month, which has since been echoed by multiple cases and dummy units...

Kiwanuka review: stack all the people in this unique puzzle game

Because I’ve been in the app review business for a few years now, I tend to have a cynical mind when I hear certain words like “endless runner” and “physics-based puzzler.” It's true that some games will surprise me and rekindle my love of those genres, but I’ve gotten to the point where I start to feel like, if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.

Kiwanuka both adheres to traditional physics-based puzzler games, and breaks from the mold at the same time. Each level offers a new challenge to overcome (traditional), but the game doesn’t feel like the same old thing in a new skin. Its simplicity is actually its positive selling point. Read along for our Kiwanuka review to help you decide if it is something you’d like to try…

KeyShortcut Pro: add real keyboard shortcuts to iOS

KeyShortcut Pro was just released on Cydia's BigBoss repo, and it's worthy of your consideration, especially if you're a heavy typer. This is the pro version of the tweak that allows you to use real keyboard shortcuts in iOS.

KeyShortcut Pro makes it so that you can hold the 'A' button to select all, the 'C' button to copy, and the 'V' button to paste. You can also do things like cut, undo, and redo. The pro version of KeyShortcut adds a few additional options to the mix, which are not seen in the original. Check out our full video inside to see what I mean...

Noisli review: sleep well to the sounds of nature

I’ve been getting wonderful, full nights of sleep lately thanks to this new app I’ve been testing. I’m one of those people who love being lulled to sleep by the comforting sounds of ocean waves, waterfalls, and chirping birds. I never leave home without some kind of audio aid for sleeping.

Noisli is an audio app that features realistic sounds of nature. What makes this app stand out from the rest is its iOS 7 theme. Get a good night’s sleep while being soothed with the visually comforting, colorful glow of your iPhone screen. Check out our Noisli review after the break…

Apps of the week: Adobe Voice, GoodReader 4, Adventure to Fate, and more

For me, there is never enough time in the week to get through all the great apps and games that come out. Even some of my favorite titles get lost in a folder somewhere as I make room for the next batch of cool stuff.

If you need inspiration for a Mother’s Day gift, want a good app for storing and organzing PDFs, or are just looking for some fun games to play this weekend, we’ve got a list of apps and games to help you out…

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine to take on senior roles at Apple after Beats buyout

The Wall Street Journal added some new details to the Apple-Beats discussion last night, reporting that Beats co-founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are likely to take on senior roles at the Cupertino company following the high profile acquisition.

Now, just what exactly they'll be doing at Apple is still unclear. It sounds like the positions are not going to be full time, with the pair commuting from Los Angeles—where Beats is headquartered—to Cupertino, and other places if necessary...

QuickCam: take photos from anywhere with this new jailbreak tweak

Have you ever found yourself using an app, and at that very moment, you came upon a picture-taking opportunity? I can't tell you how many times I've missed a great picture just because I couldn't switch to the Camera app quickly enough.

A new jailbreak tweak aims to eliminate the "shutter-shock" syndrome that's been responsible for tons of missed photo masterpieces. QuickCam is a Cydia release that makes it possible to invoke a camera overlay on top of the current running app by means of an Activator gesture. Have a look at our video walkthrough inside for the details.

WSJ: Apple playing ‘catch up’ with Beats acquisition

The disruptor has become the disrupted. Apple, the company that turned the music industry upside down with the launch of the iTunes Store in 2003, saw digital download sales drop for the first time ever last year. Why? Streaming music services.

The folks out in Cupertino failed to see the rise of the Rdios and the Spotifys, and thus have been forced to play catch-up. And according to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, that's exactly what this rumored Apple-Beats acquisition is all about...

Facebook streamlines its iOS offerings: Camera and Poke pulled from App Store

The writing has been on the wall for quite some time now for Facebook's ill-fated Poke and Camera apps.

Ever since releasing the revamped Messenger - and especially the beautiful Paper app - it's been clear to me that the outdated Poke for iPhone and the meaningless Camera would be headed to the technology graveyard.

Starting today, Camera and Poke can no longer be downloaded from the App Store.

Facebook has discontinued these two programs because their functionality has long been folded into the firm's main iOS client, as well as into Messenger and Paper...

Apple kicks off in-store iPhone upgrade event

As rumored earlier in the week, Apple has kicked off a new in-store iPhone upgrade program today. The company has put up signs and other marketing materials in its retail stores, and has begun emailing customers with older model handsets.

The purpose of the event is to get those who still have an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s into a 5s or 5c, as Apple attempts to move remaining stock ahead of the fall's anticipated refresh. The company has even upped its trade-in offers to sweeten the deal...
