Vimeo app updated with all new design, faster playback and more

Vimeo users will be happy to hear that the video streamer rolled out a new version of its iOS client today. The update brings the app to build number 4.1, and features an all-new design, as well as various other improvements.

The new design is noticeable from the second you launch the app. It has sort of an iOS 7 feel, with lightweight elements and streamlined menus, and overall navigation has been improved. More details and screenshots below...

You can now open local Mac files with supporting Chrome apps, right in Finder

Fans of Google Chrome who run the browser's Canary edition can now associate local files with Chrome apps, right in their Mac's Finder. What this does is it lets you open local documents using Chrome apps that run in the browser. This is quite handy if you've long gone Google and depend on various web apps. Chrome's Canary build is aimed at early adopters who are willing to experiment with upcoming new features. But don't worry, Canary won't mess up your existing Chrome settings...

Walking Dead: The Game – Season 2 Episode 3 launching on iOS next Thursday

Walking Dead fans, listen up: developer Telltale Games has confirmed that the third episode of its sequel to the App Store's 2012 Game of the Year is coming to an iPhone and iPad near you next Thursday, May 15.

The next chapter in the Walking Dead series, entitled 'In Harm’s Way,' will also be releasing for Mac and Windows PCs and the PlayStation 3 console owners in North America next Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

Xbox 360 fans and PlayStation 3 owners in Europe will be able to enjoy Walking Dead: The Game – Season 2 Episode 3 the following day, on May 14...

Dr. Dre seemingly confirms Apple’s Beats deal

The Financial Times newspaper yesterday reported that Apple is in the final stages of negotiating a $3.2 billion acquisition of Beats Electronics, a startup behind the recently unveiled Beats Music streaming service and the maker of premium headphones and assorted audio accessories.

Dr. Dre, who co-founded Beats, has now seemingly jumped the gun on announcing the deal in a video published on Facebook, which has now been deleted because Apple - as I'm sure you know by now - is not fond of leaks...

Because Record Run from Harmonix, a free download, takes the concept to the next level by applying the endless running mechanics to side-scrolling action, spicing it all up with a nice dose of rhythm-based approach.

Netflix confirms US price increase by $1 to $8.99

Last month, Netflix announced plans to raise prices for new subscribers later this quarter. The video streaming giant has officially detailed the price hike, going into effect today.

In the United States, new Netflix customers will be paying a dollar more, raising the subscription fee from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. Similar price hikes will be put in effect in Netflix's key markets in Europe. Existing customers will be exempt from paying extra for 24 months.

Nokia’s PureView camera expert joins Apple

Ari Partinen, Nokia's expert who worked on the Lumia PureView imaging technology has joined Apple, presumably to work on the iPhone's camera. According to a pair of tweets issued by Partinen himself, today marks his last day on the job.

A graduate of Helsinki University of Technology, Partinen was Lumia Photography Lead at the Finnish company and was instrumental in the development of the Nokia 808 PureView 41-megapixel sensor with unmatched low-light sensitivity...

Nintendo’s first mobile app to be for ‘Mario Kart TV’ web service

Nintendo continues to stand against the idea of porting its popular games to iOS or Android, but it's not writing off mobile completely. Earlier this year, the company confirmed it was working on 'service apps,' which would serve as a bridge to bring more customers over to its console platform.

New report claims Apple could launch 4.7-inch iPhone 6 as early as August

Those excited for Apple's next smartphone may not have to wait as long as originally thought to get their hands on one. Reuters passes along a new report from Taiwan's Economic Daily News this morning which claims that the iPhone 6 could be just three months away.

Citing anonymous sources in Apple's supply chain, the Daily News says that the 4.7-inch model of the new iPhone will reach stores as soon as August. The 5.5-inch model, the report says, will land a month later in September—same as the iPhone 5s and the 5 before it...
