As someone who no longer personally owns an iPad, it was great to finally get back into the tablet game with the adoption of a Nexus 9 from Google. I know some of you probably think I’ve lost it as of late, or I’m simply pulling a classic Jeff move, but hear me out.
After adopting the iPhone 6 Plus, I felt that there was simply too much overlap between it and my 7.9” iPad mini. The difference in screen size between those two devices, while still technically large, just wasn’t enough for me to justify carrying both of them around. I was, and still am convinced that my next tablet will have to be larger than 7.9 inches.
With the recent release of Android M, I wanted a tablet that I could use to test out Google’s latest OS update. Unfortunately, due to the massive fragmentation present in the Android universe, the hardware options were quite limited. Basically, I needed to get a Nexus device, and since I already own enough Android phones, I decided to go with a tablet—enter the Nexus 9.
I’ve been using the Nexus 9 for about a week, and I’ve been using it a lot. In this post, I want to talk about five things I like about the Nexus 9, versus five things I don’t like. As it does every year around this time, Apple is getting ready to host its Worldwide Developers Conference. The popular conference will take place between June 8 and June 12, and will give developers a glimpse at the future of iOS and OS X.
To kick off the event, Apple will give a keynote address on the 8th, where it will make all of its most significant announcements. As usual, it's been fairly quiet about its plans, but there are several things we're expecting to see come Monday.
IGN has named the ad-free version of the popular social trivia game 'Trivia Crack' its Free Game of the Month for June. This means that you can snag the premium title, which typically sells for $2.99, for free for both your iPhone and iPad.
For those of you who haven't played it, Trivia Crack it's a 1-on-1 trivia game that you can play wither either friends or total strangers. Questions are submitted by users, and grouped into 6 categories. First player to make it through all 6 wins.

When I first saw the Griffin WatchStand a couple of months ago, I was immediately turned off by its design. Why would an accessory aimed at a device as small as the Apple Watch have such a large footprint? I just couldn't find a use for something that tall. That was until I received my Apple Watch.

Lots of new tidbits of information is beginning to surface regarding a potential jailbreak for iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.4, and the future of jailbreaking with iOS 9, which will presumably be released in beta form after the WWDC keynote on Monday, June 8th, 2015.
iDigitalTimes' Cammy Harbison's interview with TaiG member Ray Xie, revealed that the TaiG team is setting its sights on iOS 9 with regard to future jailbreaks. Not long after that interview went live, news began to leak out that Pangu, the other Chinese team responsible for some of the more recent jailbreaks, was preparing a jailbreak release for iOS 8.3 right after the release of iOS 8.4.
So what's to make of all of this? Will we actually see an iOS 8.3 jailbreak released publicly? Will we have to wait until iOS 9 officially launches before another jailbreak surfaces? There's no way to be 100% sure about any of this, especially with the rumored implementation of the so-called rootless security mechanism. But one thing is clear, the interest in jailbreaking—at least from a hacker perspective—is still strong.
Camera+ developers Lisa Bettany, Scott Meinzer and Karl von Randow today announced a new app called 'Vee for Video.' It essentially hopes to accomplish what the popular Camera+ app has for photos on iPhone, for videos.
Bettany tells BGR that Vee was born out of the team's desire for an app that let you shoot, edit and share videos seamlessly. They considered adding video to Camera+ at one point, but ultimately decided to build a standalone app.
SwiftKey Keyboard, my favorite third-party keyboard for iOS 8, was updated today, bringing it to version 1.3.3. The new release includes skin tone options for Emoji, several new Emoji offerings in categories like Flags and Family, and various improvements.
While improvements are nice, they typically aren't anything to get excited about. SwiftKey, however, says that 1.3.3 features "a number of stability improvements to reduce crashes." Given how crash-prone third-party keyboards are in the first place, this is huge.
Apple's upcoming streaming music service will offer a lengthy free trial period to new users, according to the Financial Times. Citing sources familiar with the company's plans, the outlet says that 'Apple Music' will be free for the first 3 months.
Apple hopes the extended trial period will give users plenty of time to immerse themselves in the service, making it harder to cancel. For comparison, Spotify currently offers a 30-day free trial, and Rdio's Unlimited trial period lasts just 2 days.
