Learn how to view all phone numbers and email addresses you’ve blocked on your iPhone so you can unblock them if needed.
Back in the “old days,” the only way to block people from calling us was to either take the phone off the hook or unplug it from the wall.
But nowadays, we can block unwanted callers, spam calls, and texts from certain senders with a couple of taps.
Before you can unblock a number, however, you must know who you’ve blocked in the first place.
View all blocked numbers, email addresses, and contacts on iPhone
iOS has a central location to view a list of all mobile phone numbers, contacts, and email addresses you’ve blocked. You can access it in the settings for the Phone, Messages, FaceTime, and Mail apps.
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down to the bottom and tap Apps.
- Select FaceTime, Mail, Messages, or Phone. Don’t worry, all these apps show the same block list, so you can choose any.
- Tap Blocked Contacts (for Mail, it’s just Blocked).
- You’ll see all the known contacts you have blocked. For unknown blocked contacts, tap X Unknown first. On older versions of iOS, you’ll see all known and unknown blocked entries in one list.
- Tap an entry to view details. Swipe left and tap Unblock to do that. Or, tap Edit at the top and use the red minus button to unblock.
Maybe you have a change of heart about someone you blocked. Or perhaps you blocked a person accidentally.
Either way, now you know how to view a master blacklist of all blocked numbers, contacts, and email addresses on your iPhone.
Some apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Gmail have their own blocking features; use their internal settings to make the necessary changes, because Apple’s master blacklist applies only to its own Phone, Messages, FaceTime, and Mail apps.
