Tweetbot gains support for Chrome, Flickr, Vine and 1Password

Here's another nice Tweetbot update for your iPhone or iPad. A new version, Tweetbot 2.7, is now live on the App Store with some interesting new features. For starters, Tweetbot can now open links from tweets in Google's Chrome browser, provided it's installed on your iDevice. The app will also render Flickr images in-line, as well as 6-second clips tweeted out using Twitter's new Vine app. Lastly, links from tweets can also be sent to the 1Password app's built-in browser in order to access password-protected web sites without having to remember your credentials...

Evasi0n will be released tomorrow – status moves to 91%

Apparently, Sunday isn't exactly Funday after all. Contray to popular belief, the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak will be released tomorrow (Monday), instead of Sunday. The evad3rs team just sent out a tweet confirming it.

In the meantime, evasi0n.com shows a status of 90% complete. All that's left to do now is to perform final tests and preparation.

How to write longer tweets with TweetAmplius

Do you have lots of contacts in Twitter, but aren't crazy about limiting your tweets to 140 characters? Do you you use tweet expander services and URL shorteners, and find they're more hassle than they're worth?

TweetAmplius is a jailbreak tweak that takes your plus-sized tweets and automatically runs them through Pastie, Instapaper, and the URL shortener 'is.gd'. The tweak plugs into the official Twitter app, as well as Tweetbot, if you prefer. TweetAmplius provides a seamless long tweet experience in iOS...

Twitter launches Vine, a 6-second video sharing iPhone app

The popular micro-blogging service, Twitter, Thursday launched a brand new iPhone and iPod touch app called Vine. Twitter also officially confirmed it has acquired the startup behind Vine. Little wonder that it's hailing the new software as "the best way to see and share life in motion".

In a nutshell, the app lets you capture and share 6-second looping videos in a simple manner and share them with your friends and family. It supports the iPhone 3GS and higher and iOS 5 or later, is optimized for the iPhone 5 and can be downloaded from the App Store right now, free of charge. Go past the fold for more info...

Twitterrific gains new features, push notifications still being worked on

https://vimeo.com/57871805

As you can see in the clip above, Iconofactory today released an update to its Twitter client on the App Store, Twitterrific. The app has some loyal following - in fact, both TweetBot and Twitterrific are my favorite go-to Twitter clients for iDevices. Twitterrific fans should appreciate half a dozen new features and a bunch of improvements in this release.

Most notably, the new Twitterrific version 5.0.2 now has a simplified in-app web browser and reading mode supporting Instapaper or Readability. It also lets you find tweets in all timelines via History, preview images directly in the timeline and so forth. Push notifications, you say? Read on for the full breakdown...

How to download and explore your Twitter archive

Twitter today rolled out a new feature which allows users to download their entire archive of tweets, images and other data associated with their Twitter account. It's currently available to a small percentage of users whose language is set to English, but the micro-blogging service pledged to make it available to everyone "over the coming weeks and months". If the thought of re-visiting your Twitter past has piqued your interest, follow our step-by-step guide which explains how to explore your entire Twitter archive...

Static for iPhone: your social media pulse never looked this good

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XDQugm98GMQ

The App Store carries a number of free and paid apps that provide analytics for your social media accounts across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other popular services. One of my favorites is StatNut, a $99-cent download, and now a new app has arrived to rule them all.

Dubbed Static, it dives deep into your data so you don't have to. What the software does remarkably well is present key stats using a beautifully crafted interface to help paint an accurate picture of your social media performance...

Buffer launches new iOS and web apps making social media truly timeless

Buffer has lived on the App Store for twelve months now, after being a web-only affair until then. A year after its iOS debut, the folks at Buffer have given the service an overhaul, giving the iOS app a fresh lick of paint in the process.

Originally born as a way of scheduling Tweets for publishing at a later date or time, Buffer has now expanded its scope to take in more of the social media landscape. Both Facebook and LinkedIn are now present in Buffer's list of supported networks, and the newly redesigned iOS and web apps are gorgeous (and they weren't too bad before).

If you've ever needed to schedule a tweet, Facebook update or LinkedIn post, then you'll want to check out Buffer now even more than before...

Twitter app update with Instagram-like filters now available for download

As I reported yesterday, Twitter has updated its Android app with the promised Instagram-competing photo filters, a first for the micro-blogging service seeking to supplant Instagram as your favorite photo sharing service. That, my friends, is a pretty tall order given Instagram's popularity, the Facebook backing and a growing number of new features Instagram's gaining. Be that as it may, Twitter has waited until this morning to roll out filters to its iOS client.

You're gonna love the ability to snap a scene, edit the photo with the filters supplied by Aviary and tweet out your work without jumping back and forth between Twitter and your go-to iPhoneography app. You can grab the free download right now from the App Store. More on other features right after the break...

Just like a clockwork, Twitter rolls out photo filters to its mobile app

Twitter certainly knows their timing. Just as Facebook pushed an interesting Instagram update with improved photo editing/image taking features coupled with a brand new photo filter, Twitter too has updated its Android and iOS apps with - you guessed right - filters. Powered by Aviary, there are eight to choose from: Vignette, Black & White, Warm, Cool, Vintage, Cinematic, Happy and Gritty. Twitter makes it easy to choose one by comparing live previews in a grid view or by swiping through them.

The usual suspects such as various light and color settings should appeal to casual fans of iPhone photography. Those that totally hate fumbling with options can use the nice auto-enhance wand that automagically improves your photos so you don't have to. Filters are a great addition to your social media toolkit: you can now snap a photo and touch it up quickly before tweeting, provided you're a fan of Twitter's mobile app. More info and a cutesy video can be found right past the fold...

Twitter looking to roll out photo filters by year’s end

Back in November, The New York Times reported that Twitter was looking to add Instagram-like photo filters to its official web and mobile clients. The move would allow, if not encourage, users to bypass the popular photo-sharing service.

Today comes a follow-up report from Mike Isaac over at AllThingsD, who says that Twitter is indeed working on adding photo filters to its service, a it's hoping to release them via an application update in time for the holiday season...

Completely revamped Twitterific 5 for the iPhone and iPad goes live

Iconofactory has been teasing a completely redesigned Twitterific app since last weekend and now the software is being rolled out to international App Stores, starting with New Zealand and Australia. ”Rethought and rebuilt from the ground up", Twitterific 5 represents a complete redesign of the app you know and, hopefully, have come to love. Its refreshed look is news in and of itself given Iconofactory's artistic expertise and knowing Twitterific won an Apple Design Award.

Twitterific 5 brings with it a brand spanking new iPad interface and includes offline support, multiple account support, customizable themes, threaded DM view and timeline syncing using iCloud or Tweet Marker. More than a dozen other enhancements have made it into this update. I'm sure this release will put Iconofactory's baby back into the game. Jump after the break for additional info and screenies...
