Steve Jobs

Ninja Steve: Steve Jobs Satire At Its Finest

Apparently, Steve Jobs really is a ninja. "Ninja Steve" isn't your typical iPhone game. In it, you are the man himself - Steve Jobs.

You aren't the calm, keynote-giving Jobs that we all know and love. You are Ninja Steve. As Ninja Steve, you must fight through waves of green robots (that bear a striking resemblance to the Google Android bot) by throwing your trusty shurikens.

I have no clue how this app got approved for the App Store, but I would think it definitely wins the "Most Assured App to Piss Steve Jobs Off" award...

Mac App Store Scheduled To Open on January 6

Yesterday, Apple announced that the Mac App Store will officially open on January 6, 2011. The Mac App Store, like the iOS App Store, will be used to distribute and sell applications for the Mac.

Apple began accepting Mac App Store apps for review in the first week of November, and they are urging developers to submit their apps by December 31, 2010 to be a part of launch day. Apple hopes for the Mac App Store to be just as successful as its iOS counterpart. And while there are certainly mixed feelings among developers, it seems that the Mac App Store will be very successful...

140,000 Emails from Steve Jobs Released by WikiLeaks

Steve Jobs is probably the only CEO of a major tech company to personally reply to emails every once in a while. Sometimes revealing future product updates or simply commenting on current affairs, Jobs is known for his short and precise emails that spread around the web in no time.

WikiLeaks, the very controversial website that has leaked hundreds of thousands of classified documents has recently leaked 140,000 emails from Steve Jobs, as unveiled by Scoopertino, which dug into the emails and found a few interesting tidbits for us...

NoWiggle Takes the Jiggle Out of Your iPhone

NoWiggle is a tweak for jailbroken iPhones that prevents your app icons from dancing around on the screen when you tap and hold them. This was affectionately and hilariously referred to by Steve Jobs as "jiggle mode" during a recent media event.

Why anyone would want to remove jiggle mode is anyone guess, since it makes it apparent that you could accidentally move or delete an app; but hey, that's what jailbreaking is about, customizing the iPhone experience to your liking...

Per Steve Jobs: AirPlay to Gain Increased Functionality in the Future

Chalk this up as likely one of the most obvious revelations to come out this week: AirPlay will be improved in the future.

On Sunday, Steve Jobs reportedly confirmed by e-mail that AirPlay would be receiving a few essential upgrades in 2011, including direct streaming from Safari and one additional feature that us iPhone users might find handy...

OMG Steve Jobs Emailed Me for My Birthday [OMG]

So today is my 30th and I thought it'd be nice to have birthday wishes from Steve Jobs. So I emailed and asked him if he'd mind wishing me a happy birthday. Just minutes later I received this reply from him. Amazing. Unbelievable. I know Steve and I had our rough moments in the past so I honestly didn't expect a reply back from him.

There is something wrong with this email though, but I can't figure out what it is exactly. Is there anything out of place in there?

One last thing... Don't tell me it's a fake, because it's not... Not!

Mimicking the “Launchpad” With Your iPhone’s Wallpaper

In the recent Steve Jobs keynote, Apple introduced the next major version of Mac OS X. "Lion" boasts many new graphical innovations, and iOS seems to have been sewn into the new interface. One of the most interesting additions to Lion was the "Launchpad."

Launchpad brings the iOS home screen to OS X. In OS X Lion, when you activate your Launchpad, your desktop wallpaper is blurred and given a nice vignette so that you can clearly see your app icons. The effect is very pretty. And, fortunately, it's fairly simple to duplicate this visual effect with your iPhone's locks screen and home screen...

A Collection of Water Droplet iPhone Wallpapers

Do you remember the day? It was the Stevenote of June 7th, 2010. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the day that Apple unveiled iOS 4 for the iPhone. Every Apple geek was brimming with excitement as the first, official look at Apple's new software on the iPhone 4's mind-blowing retina display.

That beautiful water droplet wallpaper on Steve Job's iPhone 4 made every wallpaper geek drool. Apparently, Apple's pre-installed wallpaper on the iPhone 4 has inspired some designers out there to create more amazing water droplet wallpapers for your iPhones. I have collected three of the best water droplet wallpapers for the iPhone...

Police Interview Steve Jobs About Stolen iPhone

This is one of my favorite conspiracy theories. Back in March, Apple reported that an employee of theirs was drinking in the bar and lost the most recent prototype of what would be the iPhone 4. Talk about a buzz kill. Or was it?

I maintained that Apple purposely dropped the device to generate months of buzz leading up to the phone being released. That's exactly what ended up happening. Now CNET reports that the police connected to the case have interviewed numerous Apple employees, including Steve Jobs...

Steve Jobs Email About the White iPhone 4 Coming for Christmas Was a Fake

Last week we broke the news about an email that Steve Jobs had sent as a reply to one of our readers. The email was about the white iPhone 4 and implied it would be available by Christmas.

I had been "tipped" several times with emails from Steve Jobs but I never published them because they looked really fake. This one however seemed completely legit and I trusted our reader Nathan about the whole thing. I was wrong. Let me explain...

Steve Jobs Email About the White iPhone 4

The white iPhone 4 has been way overdue. First supposed to be available at the same time as the black model, it's launch was postponed several times. Last time we heard from Apple about the matter, they said the iPhone wouldn't be available until "later this year". So much for a clear timetable.

iDB reader Nathan emailed Steve Jobs and asked him more details about the white iPhone 4 release date. Nathan was lucky enough to get an answer from Steve apparently within minutes. As usual, the reply is more mystical than clear...

Steve Jobs is a Ninja?

Airports give us our funniest stories. People hauling every piece of garbage they own across the country with them often results in some hilarious revelations. Enter, Steve Jobs.

Gizmodo has a brief from a Bloomberg outlet that says that while Steve Jobs was getting his luggage at Kansai International Airport in Japan this July, security officials were forced to apprehend Jobs momentarily for having ninja throwing stars in his bags. It didn't stop there...
