iPhone 5 Will Probably Have NFC After All

At first we hoped the iPhone 5 would have NFC technology, then we were told Apple wasn't considering NFC yet. Now it appears that the next iPhone will in fact have NFC technology for mobile payments.

Multiple reports from sources like The New York Times and China Times reveal that Apple is working hard to implement NFC into the iPhone. Near Field Communication technology would allow consumers to use the iPhone as a mobile payment option, and the technology would most likely tie into the already-existing iTunes payment infrastructure.

Rumor: Revamped MobileMe Launching Next Month

Remember when we all signs were pointing to a MobileMe revamp at Apple's last event? The iPad 2 ended up stealing the show, and MobileMe wasn't addressed at all.

Apple has stopped selling MobileMe at their retail stores, and you can only sign up for the 60-day free trial online. Because there is no current way to actually pay for MobileMe, it makes sense that Apple is about to do something significant to their cloud-based sync/storage solution.

According to an inside source, Apple will launch a new, free version of MobileMe in April...

Spotted iPhone 5 Prototype With Metal Back Suggests a More Durable Design

A report claims that iPhone 5 prototypes have been spotted at Foxconn, and new intel confirms that the device will have a very similar design to the iPhone 4. Although the form between the two devices will remain similar, there should be two major design changes to set the iPhone 5 apart from its predecessor.

We've already heard that there will be a larger display, and a new rumor claims that the iPhone will have a metal back. This isn't the first time we've heard about Apple ditching the easily-breakable glass of the iPhone 4 for something more durable...

White CDMA iPhone 4 Icon Found in iTunes

The white iPhone 4 is more fiction than fact these days. After it was shown off during the original iPhone 4 announcement, the white device has been yet to be seen again. It started off as a two-week delay. Then Apple realized how serious the problem was and the weeks turned into months.

After several months in hiding, the white iPhone 4 might be making a come back in the near future. Although there's still no official release date, evidence is piling up that we may soon see this mythical gadget...

Alleged iPhone 5 Cases Point to iPhone 4 Design With Larger Screen

Some new cases have surfaced on Alibaba that claim to be designed for Apple's unreleased and unannounced iPhone 5. These iPhone 5 case listings, alongside similar designs from Hard Mac, point to an iPhone 5 design that is very similar to the iPhone 4's.

If these cases are legitimate, the iPhone 5 will not be as significant of a redesign as speculation assumed. However, it is also noted that these cases lend credence to a slightly larger screen...

iPhone 5 to Have Two SIM Cards for Dual Phone Lines?

From the same website that brought us the iPhone 5 renderings comes more speculation on Apple's new iPhone. The site, iDealsChina, is a chinese parts reseller. They don't have a perfect track record, but they did correctly predict the iPhone 3G and iPod 4G design changes.

Their latest prediction is that the iPhone 5 will hold two SIM cards. They claim it will be for the purpose of supporting dual phone lines, but I've got a better guess. The iPhone 5 is rumored to include a Qualcomm Gobi cellular and data chipset. Why does that sound familar?

Is NFC a No Go For the iPhone 5?

Back in January of this year, rumors were swirling about the possibility of Near Field Communications (NFC) technology being a part of the iPhone 5.

It's been assumed that Apple will use the technology to allow its users to make mobile transactions, a wallet replacement of sorts that eliminates the need to carry around physical credit cards.

Now it seems like those rumors may have been a bit premature, as Apple dismisses the idea of NFC appearing in its next iPhone...

Phil Schiller Confirms That White iPhone 4 Will Ship “This Spring”

Could it finally be true? Could the mythical white iPhone 4 really be on the distant horizon for consumers?

According to Apple's VP of Marketing, Phil Schiller, the white iPhone 4 will be available for purchase "this spring." This statement corroborates an earlier comment from Apple's co-founder, Steve Wozniak. Woz also said that the white iPhone would be available for purchase in the near future...

iPhone 5 Renderings Leak, Show Larger Screen

If you are new to the Apple 'rumor mill', pay attention. Due to Apple's high profile products, and dedication to absolute secrecy on their projects, tech junkies are forced to look to other avenues for information. The interest surrounding Apple products really increased after they launched their original iPhone back in 2007. After changing the wireless industry, with an all in one touch screen device, people became extremely interested in what they would dream up next.

The latest target of the rumor mill, is the up and coming iPhone 5. After a major redesign with the iPhone 4 last June, one can only imagine what they might have in store for their next iteration. Luckily, overseas parts manufacturers are there to give us tidbits on Apple products, which is exactly what we have here.

White iPhone 4 Shipping Next Month?

Here we go again! The rare and much anticipated White iPhone 4 is supposedly coming next month.

According to a new report from Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuofrom, Apple will begin production of its White iPhone 4 sometime this month, with the launch taking place sometime in early April...

Here’s What a 64GB iPhone 4 Looks Like on Video

A couple of days ago we reported on a story revolving around a mysterious 64GB iPhone 4 that seemed to have sprung out of nowhere.

Initial reports around the web indicated that the device was being sold on the grey markets in China.

Now a bit of clarification has been added to the mix, as it appears that this iPhone 4 is one of maybe a few prototypes that "leaked" out of Foxconn facilities.

As you can see, the iPhone 4 definitely reeks of being a prototype. Notice that the + and - signs on the volume keys are nowhere to be found.

This device looks eerily similar to the iPhone 4 that Gizmodo acquired last year from a guy that left his prototype iPhone 4 lying helplessly in a bar.

Another point of note is that the silver ring that surrounds the camera lens in production iPhone 4's is missing as well. That too is a feature identical to the iPhone 4 shown off by Gizmodo.

Judging from the similarities, I'm going to go on the limb as call this a pre-production iPhone 4 that just happened to find its way outside of Foxconn's walls. I highly doubt we'll ever see an iPhone 4 with 64GB of storage, but it's definitely possible for the iPhone 5.

The good news is that Apple is indeed testing such storage capabilities, so at least they are contemplating it.

What do you think?

iPhone 64GB in the Works?

What would the rumor mill do without the overseas "black" and "grey" markets? They seem to be the place to find leaked Apple products and prototypes that may otherwise have been lost in the abyss. The latest find seems to be an iPhone 4 prototype with a reported 64GB hard drive on board.

According to Unwire.hk, this unconfirmed Apple iPhone 64GB model can be purchased from Sin Tak, the largest grey market in Hong Kong. The sellers claim these are actual engineered models, and available in small quantity.
