Flappy Bird developer teases upcoming game ‘Swing Copters’

Dong Nguyen, creator of the smash hit mobile game Flappy Bird, is back with a new title, set to be released later this week called Swing Copters. As you can see, the game features similar graphics to FB, and from what we hear, it has similar gameplay.

According to TouchArcade, who has been given an early look at Swing Copters, the game gives players the same "just one more try" feeling as Flappy Bird did, and is even more challenging. We've posted a video showing the game in action below...

Pokemon Trading Card Game coming to iPad

Good news Pokémon fans, the company is bringing its popular Trading Card Game to the iPad. While we've seen several Pokémon and Pokemon-related apps released for Apple devices, this will be the first time that a full game from the franchise has landed on iOS.

That's the actual title in action shown in the photo above. A beta version of the game is being shown off to some attendees at The Pokémon World Championship, which takes place this weekend at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C...

Ubisoft confirms iOS edition of Valiant Hearts: The Great War coming on September 4

Games developer and publisher Ubisoft today confirmed that the iOS edition of Valiant Hearts: The Great War, its puzzle-adventure game set during the World War I, is coming to the App Store next month.

The game, inspired by letters written during the World War I, has originally made its debut on Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox consoles, as well as on Windows PCs, in June of last year.

Much like the original release, the iOS version is like a playable graphics novel. Of course, the iOS port features touch-optimized controls, crisp graphics designed for Retina screens, Game Center support and more...

Movie-inspired Run Forrest Run hits iOS

Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies of all time, not just due to Tom Hanks' career-defining performance as one of the most likable film characters — I particularly fell in love with the epic romantic storyline involving an athletically prodigious native of Alabama.

Those who've watched the movie (and if you haven't, you're missing out — big time) surely haven't forgotten the scene of Gump running across the country.

Well, the scene has been conveniently turned into an endless-runner game for the iPhone and iPad. A free-to-play download contains optional bonuses and power-ups in the form of In-App Purchases, but despite the dreaded APIs and nagging Facebook prompts, I'd highly recommended Run Forrest Run to those who can't get enough of endless runners, as well as to anyone who enjoyed the 1994 Robert Zemeckis movie...

Peter Molyneux’s newest God game is now available for iOS

Arguably the most famous game designer of all time, Peter Molyneux left Bullfrog to form Lionhead Studios in 1997. Ever since, he's been (mostly) churning out one hit game after another. His latest project: a God sim called Godus.

After a recent soft-launch, it's now available worldwide as a free-to-play download for the iPhone and iPad. Designed by Molyneux himself and developed for mobile by DeNA Corp., Godus started as a Kickstarter project.

The game can be considered an unofficial sequel to Curiosity, an experimental Molyneux-designed game which forced people to frantically tap away at a cube in order to discover what's inside. Godus takes a different route. Featuring cartoonish graphics, it invites you to rule over a living, breathing world and lets you shape, mold and sculpt every inch of the landscape to your liking, among other features...

BioShock, a first-person shooter video game franchise originally released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 platforms in August 2007, is about to leap onto the iPhone and iPad later this summer.

A spiritual successor to the System Shock series, the main concept behind BioShock borrows from authors like George Orwell and is based on the ideas of Objectivism, a philosophical system conceived and detailed by Russian-born American writer Ayn Rand...

Reverse-engineer crosswords with Bonza Word Puzzle

Looking at the App Store, it's easy to see that word games and puzzles aren't quite what the public is clamoring to download. Often, the endless runners and messaging apps take control of the charts, leaving good but more sophisticated games to fall out of common knowledge.
