How to jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 with evasi0n

To the surprise of many of us, Apple released iOS 6.1.1 today for the iPhone 4S. Fortunately, @planetbeing has reiterated the fact that the evasi0n untethered jailbreak works with iOS 6.1.1 perfectly fine.

Living up to that promise, the evad3rs just a few moments ago, released their update to evasi0n with iOS 6.1.1 support in tow. We have tested out the jailbreak for ourselves, and can confirm that the process is exactly like the previous jailbreak process, except it now works for iOS 6.1.1.

If you feel like doing so, it is now okay to go ahead an update to iOS 6.1.1, and re-jailbreak your iPhone 4S with the latest version of evasi0n. One thing that must be kept in mind, however, is that the iOS 6.1.1 update will most likely update your iPhone 4S' baseband. So, if you're relying on some sort of unlock like UltraSn0w, it's advisable that you hold off for the time being. Those of you who are factory unlocked won't have a problem.

Prior to all the kerfuffle surrounding the iOS 6 jailbreak release, we previewed a jailbreak tweak called Pages+. This tweak allows you to enable custom wallpaper backgrounds for each page on your Home screen, and it even works with Aaron Ash's popular Barrel tweak.

Needless to say, we were pretty excited to preview Pages+, and we're happy to report that it's now available for download on Cydia. If you want to take it for a spin both figuratively, and literally, then head over to Cydia and download it today. Pages+ can be had for $1.99 via the ModMyi repo. Ryan Petrich adds Do Not Disturb Toggle to Activator and SBSettings

Ryan Petrich, developer of numerous tweaks including FullForce for iPhone 5, has just released a new plugin for Activator and SBSettings called the Do Not Disturb Toggle.

Activating the toggle at any time enables Do Not Disturb mode in iOS 6, which silences incoming calls and notifications while your phone is locked; that is unless you've enabled repeated calls or calls from your Favorites list...

iH8sn0w has posted a minor update to his popular jailbreak utility sn0wbreeze this weekend, bringing the software to version 2.9.9. The update comes just a few days after 2.9.8 was released, and features a handful of bug fixes.

Evasi0n 1.2 is out, disables OTA updates and fixes timezone bug

The evad3rs have sure been busy this week. On Monday they released version 1.0 of their jailbreak utility, and on Wednesday they rolled out version 1.1 with fixes for the Weather app and long reboot bugs.

Today, they've posted a second update to evasi0n, bringing it to version 1.2. The new update features built-in code to disable future OTA updates on your jailbroken device, and a fix for the timezone issue...

When the evasi0n website went live Monday morning, I wasted no time jailbreaking my iPhone 5. I had convinced myself that I didn't miss my tweaks very much, but as soon as I was able to, I started downloading them.

Source Saver automatically backs up your additional Cydia repos

Don't you hate it when you restore your iPhone and all the progress you've made getting your tweaks just right gets wiped away? There are packages on Cydia that make it easy to directly backup your tweaks, but workarounds like PKGBackup can cause issues, especially if you wind up automatically installing software that is no longer compatible with your device.
