Jailbreak tweaks of the week: Dra1n, FlashNotify, PkgHistory, and more…

If you’re jailbroken on iOS 13, then you’re probably in the same boat we are and constantly trying to trick your device out with the latest and greatest upgrades. Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place to learn about the latest jailbreak tweak releases.

In this roundup, we’ll showcase the latest jailbreak tweak releases from Monday, August 3rd to Sunday, August 9th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by discussing our favorite releases and then finish things off with an outline of the rest closer to the end of this piece.

ReachOptions lets users access powerful options via the Reachability gesture

Having quicker access to convenient actions is every iPhone owner’s dream functionality that Apple generally fails to deliver with each annual software update. Fortunately, the jailbreak community is often quick to develop resolutions that meet users’ demanding needs.

ReachOptions is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer ajaidan0 that lets users access a bevy of handy options by invoking the Reachability gesture on their iPhone, as shown in the screenshot example above.

FlashNotify ensures you never forget when your iPhone’s flashlight is on

If a notched iPhone is your daily driver, then you might be familiar with just how easy it is to accidentally activate the rear-facing LED flashlight from the Lock Screen. Even more annoying is when it’s a bright and sunny day outside and you can't see that you have the flashlight feature turned on, therefore forgetting all about it and imposing unnecessary battery drain on your device.

FlashNotify is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Greg0109 that was created to prevent the two aforementioned scenarios from happening to you. As the tweak’s name implies, FlashNotify works by notifying you when you forget to turn off your handset’s rear-facing flash and provides intelligent features for turning it off when this happens.

This tweak gives the Status Bar’s battery indicator an RGB effect when charging

RGB lighting effects are popular for computer peripherals, especially in the PC gaming community. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Apple doesn’t offer anything of the such for its platforms, and this includes the iPhone and iPad.

If you’re looking to add a touch of RGB to your jailbroken iPhone that isn’t so overpowering that it looks completely gaudy, then you might enjoy a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed rgbBattery by iOS developer jesseb0rn.

Dra1n helps jailbreakers determine which tweaks use the most battery

Perhaps one of the most concerning thoughts jailbreakers have after pwning their handsets is the amount of battery drain they’ll experience after installing a bevy of jailbreak tweaks. Understandable as this may be, it’s important to remember that many developers do everything in their power to mitigate battery drain. Still, this effort doesn’t eliminate it wholeheartedly.

If you’re any be interested in tracking the amount of battery drain that your jailbreak tweaks impose on your device, then we’d strongly recommend a free jailbreak app called Dra1n by iOS developers MegaDev and Charlie While. Not only can it give you a better idea of the amount of battery discharge your handset exhibits each day, but it can also outline the suspected battery-hungry tweaks installed on your device.

This tweak shows Spotify’s car mode interface at all times

The Spotify Music app sports a magnificent Now Playing interface that rivals even Apple’s own first party Apple Music streaming app in terms of aesthetics and usability. But if you’ve ever linked your iPhone to your car via Bluetooth before, then you’ve unquestionably witnessed Spotify’s simplified Now Playing interface.

Even if you’re not driving, this Now Playing interface may be preferred in some cases because it’s easier to operate whether you’re distracted or not. A newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Spotify Car Mode Emulation by iOS developer aesthyrica can force your Spotify app to show this Now Playing interface all the time, whether you’re connected to a car via Bluetooth or not.

This new jailbreak app maintains a running history of package installs

Many modern package managers for jailbroken handsets can help users discern what their most recently-installed packages are, but these users would be hard-pressed to find a running history of what you’ve recently installed, uninstalled, or modified all in one convenient place, if at all.

That’s precisely why iOS developer Pixelomer created a new free jailbreak app dubbed PkgHistory, which as the name implies, keeps a running history of everything mentioned above so you can have a better idea of your package history.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: AddToFolder, Quorra, Rapid, Wasabi, and more…

NotiPing alerts jailbreakers when a designated website goes offline

If you spend a lot of time on certain websites, you may happen upon instances where some of those go offline temporarily either because of a small server blip, intentional maintenance, or other circumstances. I often find myself using online utilities like DownDetector to determine whether a site isn’t responding or if it’s my own internet connection, but it sure would be nice to get the heads up that a site was down before I tried to use it.

That’s the idea behind a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed NotiPing by iOS developer ItHertzSoGood. Just as the tweak’s name implies, NotiPing sends occasional pings to a server of your choice and then provides you with a notification if or when that server goes offline for any reason. An example of the aforementioned notification is depicted in the screenshot above.

Cenamo depicts your iPhone’s current battery level via the Dock

A quick glance at the Status Bar of your iPhone is the quickest way to discern how much of a battery charge you’ve got left. But let’s say you use a jailbreak tweak that hides this information from the Status Bar – what could you use in its place?

Enter Cenamo, a newly released and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Thomz that transforms your Home Screen’s Dock into a dynamic battery level display. As depicted in the screenshot examples above, Cenamo fills the Dock’s native background with colors to depict your current battery situation.

Prevent thieves from powering down your iPhone with LockShut

One of the first things a clever iPhone thief will do upon stealing your expensive handset is turn it off so that you can’t call it to listen for your ringtone or use its built-in GPS receiver to track it via Find My iPhone. With this sentiment in mind, it’s amazing that Apple doesn’t require additional secure steps to fully power off your device.

iOS developer Greg Rabago (Greg0109) recognized this eyebrow-raising caveat and consequently developed a new jailbreak tweak called LockShut in an effort to prevent thieves from powering down your iPhone without your permission.
