In this week's episode of Ask Jeff, I tackle a whole host of interesting questions. This episode dwells more on the personal behind-the-scenes side of things, so I hope you folks enjoy.

I believe I've hit a record by personally answering 10 different questions from our readers, so tune in to see if your question was among those answered...

Purported Spy Shots of the iPhone 5 in Production

Now that we're fairly confident that we're just a few weeks away from hearing an iPhone announcement, expect the rumors and blurry spy shots to kick into overdrive.

The closer we get, the more likely it is that a factory worker or carrier executive has seen the device. Keeping that in mind, there's another iPhone 5 spy shot floating around the web...

iPhone 5 Pre-Orders to Start September 30, Launch October 7

The iPhone 5's expected launch date has changed several times over the last few months. We've heard everything from August to October, and everything in between.

Recently, however, all of the rumors seem to be settling on a late September to early October availability date. And Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac all but confirms that timeframe in this new report...

LTE Equipment Being Installed in Apple Stores [Updated]

Until yesterday, I think the entire tech world had written off any chance of Apple's next smartphone supporting a 4G platform. It's a relatively new technology and it doesn't quite have all the bugs ironed out yet — not typically something Apple dabbles in.

However, a recent BGR report rekindled 4G hopes, offering up proof that carriers were testing LTE-capable iPhones. Today, Engadget has even more evidence to add to the pile. Apparently Apple Stores are installing LTE equipment, and they have a picture to prove it...

Apple Could Ship a Staggering 100 Million iPhones This Year Alone

Apple seems to be unstoppable as of late, with it recently being announced that the Cupertino company closed ahead of ExonnMobil as the world's most valuable company. The iPhone is doing well, too. Sales were up for Apple in the previous business quarter, and the unveiling of the iPhone 5 is expected to garner a huge influx in sales this holiday season.

After all is said and done, Apple could very well sell more iPhones in 2011 than every previous year combined. Specifically, if the numbers pan out, Apple could potentially move 100 million iPhone units before the year's end.

UK Carrier O2 Already Getting Ready For iPhone 5 Launch

Network provider O2 has notified its UK retail stores that they will be carrying out a three-week process to swap the old iPhone displays with new ones in order to get ready for the release of Apple's next iPhone.

The news was brought to light by several MacRumors readers, and this report confirms the rumor of an early-September iPhone 5 launch.

More iPhone 5 Replacement Parts Surface

We wouldn't know absolutely anything about a new iPhone based on Apple's behavior recently. Besides the mention of a "future product transition" during its last quarterly earnings call, Apple has been fairly tight-lipped about the upcoming smartphone.

One glance at iDB or any other Apple-based tech site, and it's the complete opposite. We've seen leaked cases, blurry spy shots, and leaked components, all pointing to an imminent iPhone 5 release...

Carriers Caught Testing LTE-Flavored iPhones

All of the information surrounding the iPhone 5 up to this point has suggested that Apple's next smartphone will not be LTE-capable, even though the platform currently powers Verizon's 4G network, and will soon drive AT&T's.

There's been several reasons for tech pundits and analysts to write the feature off from Apple's upcoming device, but as Alex reminded us yesterday, we really don't know anything for sure. On that note, BGR just posted evidence that an iPhone with LTE is currently in testing...

Clearing Up iPhone 5 Rumor Confusion

As Apple's next media event draws near, rumors are flying left and right about when the event will take place, what will be announced, etc. When it gets this close to showtime, the rumor mill goes into full throttle. Various news sites and tech pundits share their knowledge of Apple's secret plans through unknown, "reliable sources" that always seem to be "familiar with the matter."

You probably already know this, but Apple is going to release a new iPhone soon. Some even think that Apple will release two iPhones soon. Most think that Apple's next announcement will be iPhone-centric, and the event is definitely going to take place before the holidays.

But honestly, that's all anyone knows right now. Still, let's try to clear up some of the confusion...

German Airport Officials Believe They May Have an iPhone 5 in Custody

Here's something you don't hear every day. Multiple news outlets are reporting that two men were picked up in a German airport after an x-ray machine picked up a knife in one of their bags.

The weapon alone isn't that interesting, but what they found after searching through the rest of the luggage is certainly intriguing. German officials think they may have been one of the first ones to lay eyes on the iPhone 5...

iPhone 4S Set to Debut October 7th, iPad 3 Next Spring?

According to a new report, the next generation iPhone, the "iPhone 4S," is rumored to be released in October, while the iPad 3 will see a regular yearly upgrade in the Spring.

The report comes from both TiPB and Japanese site Macotakara, with TiPB providing a October 7th launch date. Both sites have claimed that the iPhone 4S will debut in October and that the iPad 3 would be released in the Spring of 2012...
