Cat Playing Fruit Ninja is Super Awesome

We've conducted extensive tests here at iDB, and we have come to the cat-egorical (see what we did there?) conclusion that there is nothing more awesome on this planet than cats. Ceiling cat, keyboard cat, the list goes on.

Now we can add Fruit Ninja cat to the growing list of fantastic felines, after a video surfaced of one such feline showing that fruit just who the boss really is.

Just watch this video, we dare, nay double-dare you to not raise a smile. Perhaps even giggle a tad...

60beat’s $50 iOS GamePad Controller Brings the Console Experience to Mobile

iOS is growing to be a major player in the gaming space. When you are selling as many iPhones and iPads as Apple is, not to mention iPod touches, then it is almost an inevitability that your own App Store is going to become a mecca for all manner of games.

With its touch-based interface and huge screen, the iPad in particular has become something of a giant in the mobile gaming world, but the same touch screen that is is biggest strength can also be its biggest weakness. That's why this new accessory really caught our eye.

Coming from accessory company 60beat, this new controller gives gamers a more familiar way of controlling their games. If iOS gaming is to truly take over, then there needs to be a natural way to play traditional games, and that natural way involves a couple of thumbsticks and some hardware buttons.

It’s that time of the week! We frequently comb the far reaches of the App Store to bring you awesome apps for your downloading pleasure.

Use Your iOS Device as the Controller for Real Racing on the Mac

If you know anything about iOS games, chances are that you've heard of Firemint's Real Racing. The two-game racing series is one of the most popular franchises on Apple's mobile platform.

The developers have really pushed the technological envelop with the title, making it one of the first apps to work cohesively with iOS 5's AirPlay mirroring feature. And now they're taking the game to a whole new level.

How to Add Game ROMS to iMAME on Your iOS Device

Yesterday we told you about iMAME, the free iOS emulator that somehow managed to sneak its way into the App Store. The app allows users to play classic arcade games by loading ROM [read only memory] files onto an iOS device.

iMAME comes with 10 classic arcade games, but is compatible with thousands more if you can figure out how to transfer ROMs onto your handset (or iPad). We put together this easy tutorial to show you how to do sideload retro game ROMs for iMAME.

iMAME Arcade Game Emulator Slips into the App Store

It would seem that the folks on Apple's crack team of app approvers have been slipping a bit lately. Just the other day the company approved iTether, an unlimited tethering application for the iPhone. And now this.

Word has been spreading like wildfire this afternoon that Apple has admitted iMAME into the App Store. So, what's the big deal? Well, we're pretty sure the ROM-playing emulator doesn't quite meet Apple's strict app guidelines...

Download Bejeweled for Free, Compliments of Apple

After giving away free copies of the popular game Where's My Water, Apple is feeling generous again as it is offering promo codes for the puzzle game Bejeweled to its loyal Facebook fans.

In order to redeem your free copy of Bejeweled, head over to Apple's Facebook page, "Like" it if you haven't yet, and click on "Get Your App Free."

Popular Racing Game Asphalt 6 Free for a Limited Time

While we haven't seen too many app sales yet this month, we have seen quite a few apps go free for short periods of time. There was Where's My Water, High Caliber Hunting, and EA's Flight Control to name a few.

Now we can add another one to the list. Gameloft has just made its popular iOS racing title, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, free for a limited time.

Whale Trail Updated With 32 New Levels, Game Center Features, and More

Whale Trail, one of the stand-put hits of the App Store right now, has just received its first update, bringing with it some new features as well as some new levels for players to negotiate.

Bringing the version number up to 1.1, Whale Trail's developers have sought to improve upon the formula that has seen the game receive over 4,000 5-star ratings since its release. The ustwo team haven't meddled with the mechanics, but has chosen to add features to existing game modes, helping the $0.99 game live even longer.

Sega Classic Sonic CD Now in the App Store

Before we get any further than the opening sentence of this collection of words we like to call "a blog post," there is one thing that needs to be made abundantly clear: Sonic is without doubt one of the highlights of the 1990s. Furthermore, Sonic CD is probably the highlight of a series which has since lost its way in a sea of mediocre spin-offs and reboots.

That said, Sonic CD for iOS certainly appears to have what it takes to make us forget about the last 15 years or so of trash that has come out of Sega's Sonic team, and return us to the speed-filled glee that is directing a blue, spiky creature through 2D levels.

Sonic CD coming to iOS is something of a big deal, especially if you were a big fan of the original. We were, and giddy doesn't really come close to how we felt when hitting that "Buy" button on the App Store. If first impressions are anything to go by, our hopes were not misplaced.

Grand Theft Auto III Now Available in the US App Store

Besides the recent release of Infinity Blade II, Rockstar's iOS port of its classic console hit Grand Theft Auto III has been one of the most anticipated titles for Apple's platform this Fall.

We told you about the impending release of the game earlier this month, and now we're happy to announce that the wait is finally over. Grand Theft Auto III has just gone live in the US App Store...

Gather the Gems: A Surprisingly Fun iOS Game [Sponsored]

I've come across a couple of really solid iOS games in the past few weeks. First, there was Where's My Water. When Apple started giving the game away I had to check it out. Then there was Heads Up. The RockLive title is about as addicting as they come.

So, needless to say, I was a bit skeptical when I was asked to review Gather the Gems. It falls in the same quick-play category as the aforementioned titles, and there's limited space on my device. Can Gather the Gems earn a spot on my home screen? Read on...
