Apple ramping up COVID-19 testing for employees; reverses course on planned return of in-person Today at Apple sessions

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is forcing a lot of changes, especially as the Delta variant spreads. While there was a point where it seemed like things might be going back to "normal," that's not so much the case anymore. It was just yesterday that Apple planned to welcome back in-person "Today at Apple" sessions at its physical retail stores in the United States and Europe, but it turns out that won't be happening after all.

It's been a few months since Apple launched the brand new, much more colorful 24-inch iMac. And for folks who have been waiting until refurbished models start popping up on the market to make a purchase, the wait is over. Mostly. Stock isn't quite as robust as one might like, but for folks in the United Kingdom there's at least one option ready to buy now.

As time marches on, and security needs change and evolve, companies need to do the same thing. There once was a time when you'd hand a store associate a credit card and they'd use a physical machine to copy your card details on some paper and call it good. Today, though, our credit and debit cards are outfitted with small chips that make them much more secure than a flimsy piece of paper. They are also equipped with a magnetic strip, too, but it looks like that's on the way out.
