Popular read-it-later app Pocket now supports French, Spanish and other languages

One of my favorite apps Pocket, the read-it-later service that lets you bookmark articles and videos from across the Web to read or watch later, went global today. Where it once only supported English, it now supports 6 additional languages.

The update is rolling out today to Android, iOS and web apps, adding support for French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish. The company says that more languages, as well as support for international apps, will be added soon...

Gameloft teases major Asphalt 8 update including new cars, maps and more

Yesterday we told you that Gameloft and Twitch were teaming up to bring live gameplay streaming to mobile devices. Their first project is Asphalt 8: Airborne, where users will be able to stream live video of them playing the game from their iPhone or iPad to their Twitch channel.

As we noted before, the new feature will launch alongside an upcoming Asphalt 8 update that will add new cars, new maps and more. And Gameloft has just posted a great-looking trailer for the release, titled 'Welcome to the Great Wall,' which we've posted for you down below...

Google Voice reportedly getting axed soon in favor of VoIP-to-phones Hangouts integration

Have you even wondered why it's been nearly six months since Google last refreshed the free Google Voice for iPhone application (it still lacks iOS 7 styling)? After all, isn't Google Voice supposed to be a priority for the Internet giant?

For those unfamiliar with it, Google Voice is a telephony service that offers a bunch of nice features such as voicemail, free text messaging, call history, conference calling, call screening, call routing, blocking of unwanted calls and voice transcription to text of voicemail messages, to name a few.

According to a new report, Google could be looking to retire the standalone Voice app for iOS and Android and instead fold its functionality into the native Hangouts app, which was released in the App Store in May of 2013...

Facebook update simplifies sharing and posting

Following today's update to WhatsApp which brought out nice new wallpapers and privacy controls for your Last Seen, Profile Photo and Status, the social networking giant Facebook has just refreshed its main iOS client.

The new Facebook 8.0 for the iPhone and iPad, now available in the App Store, brings supposed improvements for reliability and speed, a simpler way to see and choose a photo album's audience and a slightly refreshed iPad UI to make it easier to post and share on the tablet...

Dropbox for iOS updated with new illustrations, improved photo sync and more

Dropbox posted an update to its iOS client this afternoon, bringing the app to version 3.1. The update features a number of improvements, such as new illustrations, several bug fixes, and some SSO enhancements for Dropbox for Business users.

Users will be happy to hear that a few major bugs have been addressed in version 3.1 including the sync issue that would often cause some photos to fail to load, and the sorting problem that wouldn’t group items properly when you sorted by date...

New commenting features, UI tweaks and more added to YouTube iOS app

Google's native YouTube application for the iPhone and iPad has just been updated with some much-needed enhancements to the commenting system and more. For starters, it is now finally possible to reply to other people's comments and delete your own comments right within the app.

Previously, you had to visit the YouTube interface on the web to remove unwanted comments so that's a nice little time saver right there. This edition of YouTube includes a few other timely enhancements and useful interface refinements, all listed and illustrated right after the break.

The update is now live in the App Store...

WhatsApp picks up new wallpapers and introduces new privacy controls

Facebook-owned WhatsApp, the world's most popular mobile messaging service, has received a nice little update Monday bringing some much-needed privacy controls.

For starters, you can now tell the app who you want to share your profile photo and status with, quite in handy if you're a private person who only wants to share this type of information with your phone contacts rather than with anyone using the service.

The same privacy settings are available for your Last Seen status as well - useful when you don't want others to tell you haven't opened their messages yet. Oh, and this edition of WhatsApp also includes some nice new wallpapers.

The update is live in the App Store so grab it now...

ClearWeather HD brings minimalist weather to the iPad

I’ve gotten a kick out of the fun, simple weather apps that have launched in the App Store since iOS 7 made its debut. Some look like rocket pops. Some look like a graph. Some have almost no information other than the weather. What most of them are seriously lacking, however, is iPad optimization.

ClearWeather HD is a minimalist weather app that shows off your iPad with bright colors, clean lines, and a simple interface and will make your co-workers turn their head…

Crazy Taxi goes free ahead of upcoming sequel, Crazy Taxi: City Rush

This past Friday, games maker Sega flagged down a Crazy Taxi sequel, dubbed Crazy Taxi: City Rush. As part of the announcement, the original Crazy Taxi for the iPhone and iPad has gone free in the App Store for a limited time. This is free in a true sense of the word - there are no in-app purchased to spoil the fun whatsoever! Crazy Taxi is based on the hugely popular Dreamcast classic and if you haven't played this game yet, I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try.

It's a title unlike any other. I mean, what other game lets you hurdle off parking garages, barrel through traffic-packed streets and perform crazy combo and stunts as you attempt to scare up the most fares? As a bonus, Crazy Taxi is packed with humor and you can't beat the fun factor...

24me is smarter than your average personal assistant

There are hundreds of getting-things-done (GTD) and organizer apps in the App Store. The problem is finding the right one for you. Everyone manages their time differently. Some work better with very minimalist actions. Others prefer having all the bells and whistles. What about those who sit right in the middle?

24me Smart Personal Assistant is the “Baby Bear” of GTD apps. It is fairly simplistic and easy to use, but has just the right amount of bells and whistles to increase productivity without taking much time to get organized…

Apps of the Week: Brushstroke, Sliver, Faif and more

Nothing says, “Its time for the weekend” like an apps of the week list. This weekend is merely a rest up for the real party that happens on Monday, St. Paddy’s day. Don’t forget your green undies.

If you are sick of green beer, green cupcakes, and goofy green hats, maybe it is time to stop reading Reddit and start playing some mobile games. If you are looking for something to help you detox after Monday night’s debauchery, we have a list of apps and games that will take your mind off of those pink elephants on parade…
