Build the ultimate post-apocalyptic empire in Apoc Wars

Build and battle games are really hitting their stride with iOS now. They are so much more than just simple town-building games. Players can now train an army and go out to attack and overthrow other empires. It’s like you are getting two games in one.

Apoc Wars is a build and battle game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where enemies are punk rock Dirt Bags and your soldiers look like they walked out of Jamie Hewlett’s imagination…

This ordinary-looking App Store app has a hidden GBA emulator

At a high level, Slider Puzzle looks like a simple puzzle game. But it's hiding a secret. Concealed underneath its unadorned surface sits a full-featured GBA/GBC emulator that allows you to play some of your favorite ROMS.

Now, this isn't the first time an app like this has landed in the App Store. In fact, just last week we told you about an app with a hidden tethering feature. But we're still talking about an emulator here, and it doesn't require a jailbreak...

Kamcord adds voice narration to iOS games

If you haven't heard about Kamcord yet, it's a startup which provides technology that enables iOS games developers to offer in-game recording functionality. And with over a hundred iOS games incorporating Kamcord solutions and over 500 million gameplay videos being recorded in the last six months, Kamcord has clearly hit the ground running. Rockstar Games has refreshed Grand Theft Auto 3: The 10 Year Anniversary Edition for the iPhone and iPad today, adding several notable features that enhance the experience. Like Electronic Arts' Real Racing 3, the Grand Theft Auto game now supports cloud saves for hassle-free gameplay across devices.

Now you can start playing on your iPhone and continue right where you left off on the iPad, and vice versa.

This is tremendously useful in today's multi-device world and it's a shame other game makers don't support cloud saves out of the box. Grand Theft Auto 3 also now plays nice on the iPhone 5's taller screen and you can use your own iTunes playlist...

EA turns Tetris into a whole new game [review]

Tetris is one of those games that I never could play very well. I would often drop a block in the wrong spot or not plan ahead for upcoming blocks. I’d end up with too many holes and no way to remove a row.

Tetris Blitz takes much of the hard work and frustration out of the game by giving you block placement options and a two-minute time limit. You’ll never run out of room for blocks because the game will end before you get there…
