Beat Sports review: turn your Apple TV into a Wii, sort of

With the fourth-generation Apple TV now available, we are getting a glimpse at the types of apps and games that are being developed for our living room. One surprising addition to the gaming world comes from Harmonix (creators of Guitar Hero and Rock Band).

Beat Sports is a rhythm-based sports game. Players use their Siri Remote control as a sort of Wii style motion-based remote to swing away at oncoming balls. We've got a full game review of Beat Sports for your reading enjoyment.

Memory Palace will put your concentration and memory to the test

We are constantly consuming all manner of information, media, and entertainment. It goes into our brains, and much of it ends up in our subconscious. The more we cram into our heads, the harder it becomes to remember everything we've learned.

Memory Palace Game is a memory game that makes you remember illustrations in a specific order. If you correctly list the objects, you'll unlock a larger palace, and possibly unlock a larger area in your memory.

The Room Three review: same great puzzle solving, but with more room to move

Fireproof Games has made a name for itself on iOS with one series of games. The Room won Apple's Game of the Year in 2012. The sequel, The Room Two, came out in late 2013 and transported players to a new location with plenty of new and intricate puzzles. It was also named as one of Apples Best Of games in 2013.

The Room Three is already proving to be of the same stellar quality as its predecessors. After two similar titles, will players get tired of the same thing again? We have a full game review of The Room Three for you today.

App Store search results are now smarter and more relevant

Apple has been working hard in recent weeks to make App Store search results smarter and more relevant, reports TechCrunch. The outlet points to comments from high profile app developers, who began noticing changes to the search results earlier this month and a major algorithm update on November 12.

"I just searched Twitter on the App Store and Instagram is gone," Contrast's David Barnard pointed out on Twitter. "Tweetbot is #4, Twitterrific #5, and more relevant results overall." Tapbots developer Paul Haddad also spotted the change, noting that the change has had a significant impact on his app searches.

Mavenfall uses 3D Touch for deeper gameplay

With battle card games like Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon TCG dominating the market, it seems impossible for new titles to make a splash with card gamers. Mavenfall stands out from the pack with a few special features that are unique in the card game world, at least for now. Taking advantage of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus 3D Touch, Mavenfall lets players go deeper into the battle.

Lumino City review: a puzzle adventure that’s as good as it looks

Puzzle adventure games are a dime a dozen, but that doesn't mean they are all good (or all bad, for that matter). Finding the right mix of complexity and innovation, combined with proper elements of visual aesthetic, is not that easy.

Lumino City has found the right mix. Not only is it visually pleasing (read below to find out more about that), but the puzzles are also unique and complex, without being so difficult that you lose interest. We've got a full game review of Lumino City for you today.

How to play MAME arcade games on Apple TV

Along with being able to play classic Nintendo and Sega games on your Apple TV, you can also play classic arcade titles. Doing so is made possible by a port of MAME, which stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. Unfortunately there isn't yet a GitHub page setup for the MAME tvOS port, but the same developer that created the MAME emulator that we showed you a while back has made the full Xcode project available for download.

Rayman Fiesta Run for iPhone and iPad slashed to $0 in Apple’s Free App of the Week promo

Since its November 2013 debut, Ubisoft's Rayman Fiesta Run has only gone free briefly through an in-app promotion within the Expedia app.

That's why Apple's editorial team has decided it was high time to permit everyone to download this game to their devices at no charge, so they've made Rayman Fiesta Run free until next Thursday.

This marks the first time the fast-paced platformer has been slashed to zero bucks in the App Store. Taking cues from Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Fiesta Run has you jumping, flying, punching, running up the walls and more in the wacky new Fiesta world.
