Let’s Talk iOS 166: Super Mario Bum

It couldn't possibly be an episode of Let's Talk iOS without mentioning the release of Super Mario Run, and what Cody and Sebastien think of the game after spending a little time with it. Other topics discussed include battery life on the new MacBook Pro, Apple's removal of the estimated time of battery remaining and the fact that the company didn't do anything in macOS 10.12.2 to address battery concerns. The guys also talk about the release of the AirPods, and the delay of the BeatsX. Finally, Cody share a new app he's discovered.

How to stop your Mac from inserting a period when you double-press the Space bar

Mac tips

Just like you can easily insert a period when you double-press the Space bar on your iPhone or iPad, this feature is also available on Mac running macOS Sierra and later. It seems to be disabled by default if you're upgrading a Mac to macOS Sierra, but it was definitely enabled by default on my brand new MacBook Pro.

While I find the feature helpful on iOS, it actually gets in the way of my typing habits on my Mac. For that reason, I have chosen to stop my Mac from adding a period at the press of a double space.

Apple ranks highest in customer satisfaction survey for its soon-to-be discontinued wireless routers

Call it awkward, or call it ironic, but a recent J.D. Power wireless router satisfaction report put Apple at the top, with a score of 876, followed by ASUS (860), D-Link (856) and TP-Link (854). This report obviously comes at an interesting time as the company was rumored this month to be disbanding its router unit and stop developing AirPort wireless routers.
