I’ve been a fan of the Felt Cards app for iPad for years now. I use it to send thank you cards, birthday cards, and the occasional Halloween greeting to my more obsessed friends. The thing that makes the Felt Cards app so special is that you write your own words in your own handwriting inside the blank card, and then staff prints it and mails the physical copy by hand.
This week, the company launched a holiday-based picture card app on the iPhone called Felt Storyframes. Now, you can send personalized well wishes to all your friends and family, complete with pictures, decorative overlays, and your own handwritten notes.

With all of these new iOS 8 keyboards now available, there is just too much fun to be had. You can translate text with Slated, code with UniChar Picker, and use ScribbleBoard because drawing is more fun than typing. It just keeps getting better. Now, the trend is for keyboards for fat fingers.
Type Nine is a big keys keyboard for those extra thick digits. Only unlike apps like Thick Buttons, this one harkens back to before there were such a thing as keypads for smartphones. So, all you old school flip phone typers will enjoy some retro texting.

I have to admit that, early on during last week, I was a bit disappointed to see the new titles available in the App Store. You could call it a “slow week” for apps. I did call it that. However, as the days went on, we discovered cool widgets like Neato, great updates like Microsoft Office’s, and even a couple of new apps that put a smile on our faces.
This week has already gotten off to a very good start with a handful of really fun free apps and games, plus some great looking titles that will give you a reason to spend some money.
