Conformity app is like having a math tutor in your pocket

It has been years since I had to access the part of my brain that learned algebra and geometry. I never did have to take trig (being a journalism major has its perks). If someone were to ask me today what the Pythagorean Theorem is, I might be able to remember that it has something to do with adding square roots.

Conformity is a calculator that specializes in formulas for general math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. No more memorizing the Quadratic Equation or trying to remember how to find the volume of a cube.

The Elago Slimfit2 is an attractive minimalist case for iPhone 6

It is slim. It is clean. It protects your iPhone without calling attention to it. It is Elago’s S6 Slimfit2, and minimalists will appreciate its subtleness and unassuming design.

If you prefer simplicity when protecting your gadgets, the S6 Slimfit2 has an ultra low profile made from flexible and durable polycarbonate available in 15 different colors. The soft texture case uses double-coating with an over paint and under paint to improve grip while keeping germs and bacteria from being able to stick to it.

Prison Life RPG review: survive, escape, or die in prison

There are simulators for all kinds of life experiences, including running a theme park, building a bustling metropolis, and owning the airlines. There is a darker side to life, though. Now, anyone can be a part of it.

Prison Life RPG is a lot more creative than its name implies. It is a prison life simulator where players must make friends, join gangs, and stab people in the shower in order to survive. We’ve got a hands-on game review of Prison Life RPG for your reading pleasure.

MacID goes free, gets audio controls, Notification Center widget, and more

A few months ago, I reviewed MacID, which is a biometric locking and unlocking utility app for iOS and OS X. Users sync the two devices together and sign in with their Mac’s password. Then, whenever you leave your computer, it locks. The iOS app allows you to unlock it with Touch ID or by entering your iPhone’s password.

MacID version 1.1 recently launched and to celebrate, the company’s developer has dropped the price of the iOS app from $3.99 to free for 48 hours. The update makes this app way more than just a simple unlocking feature.

MATE.. is a fast-moving twitch game that will leave you spinning

Every once in a while, a really hard game finds a home in the App Store. Not complex or difficult to understand, but really, really hard. MATE.. is one of those games. No matter how many times you play it, it is nearly impossible to get through more than a few seconds before slamming into a wall and losing.

Rocket Joust review: unseat your opponents on a rocket-propelled mount

I’ve tried a couple of jousting games in the App Store. They look cool and have great graphics, but similar to golfing video games, I’m not a big fan of the type of games where you have to time the swing, or attack, with precision. I prefer to run amok and swing wild.

Rocket Joust is a competitive arena game where players try to knock their opponent off of their mount with a good solid stab. Timing is less important than attacking your foes with unrestraint. We’ve got a game review of Rocket Joust for you today.

Enlight, Outwitters, Perfect Shift and more apps to check out this weekend

This was another big week at Apple. We finally got the low-down on pricing and availability of the Apple Watch. Now, we get to watch as developers flood the App Store with Watch-compatible apps.

Until then, we just have to stick with these boring, old regular ones. If you need to fill your iPhone or iPad with apps and games to keep your spirits up this weekend, check out our list below.

Tether automatically locks your Mac when you walk away, unlocks it when you return

If you use a Mac in a public place, or around particularly snoopy family members or roommates, you probably worry about leaving your computer unattended and unlocked for prying eyes to see. Locking up before leaving your desk becomes a habit. But sometimes you forget, and it is always a bit of a hassle.

Tether connects your Mac to your iPhone so that it locks up when you walk away and unlocks when you come back. After set-up, you don’t have to do anything else.

Crescent Moon Games launches Paper Monsters Recut on iOS

Nearly everyone with an iPhone has heard of Paper Monsters. The adorable 2-D platformer won our hearts three years ago for being one of the best in the genre at the time.

Crescent Moon Games pulled their beloved title from the App Store earlier this week and has replaced it with the PC and Wii U version, Paper Monsters Recut. One of the best aspects of this new title is that it does not feature in-app purchases. We’ve got a game review of Paper Monsters Recut for you today.

Meerkat lets you stream live video to Twitter

During Apple’s Spring Forward event, you may have noticed a few tweets that started off with “|LIVE NOW|” followed by a hashtag for “meerkat” and a link. If you haven’t had a chance to experience it yet, the Twitter verse now has a way to live stream video content.

Meerkat is a video client that allows users to live stream video directly to their followers on Twitter. It is live. If you click on the link after the video has ended, you will miss out.

Infinite Cosmos review: play a space-themed shooter for all eternity

Simple arcade shooters are some of the most exciting video games to have ever been created. No matter what your skill level, weaving through space debris and avoiding oncoming attacks can challenge anyone’s abilities.

Infinite Cosmos is a retro style, space-themed arcade shooter that puts you in the cockpit of a minimally armed, low armored spacecraft as you blast your way through enemies, asteroids, and anything else that gets in the way. We’ve got a hands-on game review of Infinite Cosmos for you today.
