2021 might not have been the busiest of years for Apple. All things considered, though, the company launched a healthy enough amount of new devices out into the wild. And, since the year is finally over and done with, let’s take a look back, shall we?
Apple actually launched not just a range of new products, but also a couple of brad new processors to boot. And we can’t forget about the brand new accessory, the AirTag, too. But of course, it’s the major products, like new laptops and a new desktop computer, that really take the cake. That gobble up all of the attention.
For me, though, it’s a small tablet that won the year for me.
But, first, let’s take a quick look at what launched this year:
- Apple TV 4K with Siri Remote
- 24-inch iMac
- iPad Pro with mini-LED display
- The new iPad
- Apple Watch Series 7
- iPhone 13 lineup
- New HomePod mini colors
- 14- and 16-inch redesigned MacBook Pro
- M1 Pro and M1 Max processors
Not a gigantic lineup, but still respectable. And 2022 will probably be crazy, especially if all those rumors about AR/VR headsets and more pan out. But, we’re not there quite yet. Even though it’s now officially 2022, I want to hear about any products that really grabbed your interest.
As I mentioned above, it’s the small tablet, the sixth-generation iPad mini, that really stole the show for me in 2021. It’s not like it was a surprise or anything. The rumor mill did a pretty outstanding job “ruining” that one, as is par for the course. And it wasn’t until I actually got one in my hand that I knew why I’d been waiting for something exactly like this. The iPad mini has always been one of my favorite tablet models, but the new redesign is basically perfect for its small size.
I also really enjoyed the new 14-inch MacBook Pro. I almost picked one up, but I realized before that it was simply way, way out of my league as far as needs are concerned. If anything, the 14-inch MacBook Pro convinced me that waiting for the new, redesigned MacBook Air is probably worthwhile. Just as long as it doesn’t have a white bezel, because no. Don’t do it, Apple.
But, how about you? What was your favorite Apple-branded product launched in 2021?
Happy New Year!
