This latest updated, dubbed 0.9.6rc8 adds some additional reporting to the custom boot logo command line options featured in rc7.

Now when you select an invalid PNG, you should get a pretty error message describing why your image was invalid...

AT&T to Slash Price of iPhone 3GS to $49 This Friday

A brand new iPhone 3GS for less that $50 bucks? It looks like somebody is trying to lock up some new customers with two-year contracts, and get rid of some inventory at the same time.

Just why in the world would they want to do such a thing? It looks like AT&T is gearing up for some major changes in the mobile phone landscape, and as customers, you reap the benefits with a sub $50 phone...

They Say Imitation is the Greatest Form of Flattery So Samsung Must Loooove the iPhone

I mean, really? Did Samsung just blatantly copy the iPhone 4 like that? Okay, to be fair the camera angle of this shot doesn't tell the whole picture, but still, that's some sincere flattery that Samsung's dishing out right there.

Say hello to the Samsung TV Control Remote. Yes, that's a remote control... for your television. I know, it looks almost exactly like a phone, but Samsung swears that the only thing this puppy will be talking to is your TV...

Apple Approves Another BitTorrent iPhone App

Apple has been making some surprising app approvals for the App Store. Several months ago, a BitTorrent app called IS Drive snuck into the App Store. It didn't stay there for long, but Apple still approved it at one point.

Another BitTorrent application has tiptoed its way into the App Store catalog. iControlBits is a mobile client for the popular OS X BitTorrent utility called Transmission. For many Mac users, Transmission is the BitTorrent client of choice. Transmission already allowed users to manage torrents through a web interface, but the process was a tad cumbersome.

iControlBits allows you to manage your torrents in a native environment for the iPhone. Let's just hope it doesn't get pulled before you finish downloading that new episode of Glee...

iPhone App Review: Moto X Mayhem

Moto X Mayhem [iTunes link] was developed by Occamy Games and is an exciting 2D Dirt Bike side-scrolling game that brings a fun concept through simplicity.

The concept of the game is really simple. You control a BMX Biker and must get through 4 treacherous campaigns in the quickest time possible. To control your Bike, you must accurately Throttle, Break, Leaning Forwards or Backwards to continue your trek forward.

The buttons for these controls will be on the left and right of the screen, or you can use the accelerometer for learning forward/backwards...

A Strange New iOS Alert References The Mac App Store

Here's a new anomaly from Apple's App Store. This image is courtesy of Francis, an iPhoneItalia reader. Francis was casually looking through the reviews of an iPhone app called "iAddebito." He tried to post his own review, but was alerted with this warning message.

If your Italian is a little rusty, we understand. The message reads, “You must own this product to write a review. To write a review on this app, you must have bought it from the Mac App Store."

The Mac App Store is opening tomorrow, but it seems that Apple may have already been secretly testing it with certain iOS apps. Who knows, perhaps there will be iOS apps that can run cross-platform (iOS and OS X) when the Mac App Store opens...

Even the LA Lakers Aren’t Immune to the iPhone’s Alarm Clock Woes

Now this is just getting down right embarrassing. CBS Sports is reporting that several members of the Los Angeles Lakers -- including star center Pau Gasol -- woke up late as a result of the iPhone's infamous alarm clock bug.

Perhaps lack of sleep is a good excuse for the lack of effort we've seen from the Lake Show as of late. Needless to say, Steve Jobs can't be happy about this.

Sure, it's okay for normal people to oversleep, but when your state's flagship basketball team begins to feel the impact, you've got some real issues....

‘RoundCorners’ Blesses iPhone Owners With a Well Rounded Experience

Remember the good ol' days when half of the picture on your TV was cut off due to the rounded corners of those old TV Tube sets? I always despised that, and rejoiced when I scored my first flat-screen TV that eliminated the rounded corner problem.

If your childhood was devoid of such fond memories, fret not my dear friends! Now, with this latest jailbreak tweak entitled RoundCorners, you can live back in the 90's as well...
