Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer hits iTunes and YouTube, watch it now

The official teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens on Black Friday made its debut on iTunes. Lucas film yesterday tweeted that the trailer will hit iTunes after initially saying that it would only be shown in 30 movie theaters across the U.S. Disney in October 2012 acquired Lucasfilm in a transaction valued at a whopping $4 billion.

The acquisition brought Lucasfilm under Disney's fold and gave the Mickey Mouse house rights to further develop the Star Wars franchise and film new movies in the series in co-operation with George Lucas. The trailer has also hit YouTube and we've embedded it for your viewing pleasure right after the break.

Disney’s iOS-exclusive combat strategy game Star Wars: Commander launches globally

After soft-launching in Australia nearly two months ago, Disney Interactive on Thursday released its real-time strategy game for iOS, Star Wars: Commander, on a worldwide basis.

Available as a free-to-play download for the iPhone and iPad, Star Wars: Commander lets you play on the side of the Empire or the Rebellion and "lead epic battles with your favorite heroes".

You'll be challenged to invade other players' bases, charge into battle on distant planets, command your troops and lead machines of war like AT-ATs and TIE fighters into battle, while rising through the ranks as a powerful battlefield commander.

The premium game is set in the period of Galactic Civil War when the Rebellion rallied for justice and freedom while the Empire — as is its wont — sought control of the galaxy.

Angry Birds Star Wars II goes free, adds 30 new ‘Master Your Destiny’ levels

Finnish games maker Rovio Mobile, best-known for its Angry Birds franchise, today released a "Master Your Destiny" update adding an additional thirty new levels to Angry Birds Star Wars 2. And for the third time since it launched late last year, Angry Birds Star Wars 2 has switched from paid to free.

Disney’s new iPad app lets you recreate and customize iconic Star Wars scenes

Following Disney's unexpected purchase of Lucasfilm from George Lucas for $4.05 billion, the Mickey Mouse house is poised to release a seventh Star Wars film later this year. As part of the pre-release hype, the animation powerhouse has released a new Star Wars-themed app in the App Store.

Called Star Wars Scene Maker, it lets you create your own three-dimensional scenes and recreate iconic sets from the movies by dragging pre-made 3D objects representing characters, environments, weapons, props and ships across the screen and applying perfect camera angles (fixed mode, fixed tracking camera and chase camera) to them.

Star Wars KOTOR goes half price, now with iOS 7 controller support and iCloud saves

Mac games developer Aspyr released Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) for iPad last May and today the app has received its second major update while slashing the retail price in half. Previously costing ten bucks a pop, the game is now available 50 percent off celebrating this update, or just $4.99 a pop in the App Store. The price drop is valid for a limited time only so bargain hunters should grab the game now before the price goes back up.

As for the new features, the freshly updated versions has an improved support for iOS 7 'Made for iPhone' controllers, such as Steel's Series Stratus, Moga's Ace Power Controller and Logitech's PowerShell. Both extended and standard controllers are fully supported. There are also new languages in this KOTOR update as well as iCloud saves for keeping your progress synchronized across all devices...

Disney announces new ‘Star Wars: Assault Team’ game coming to iOS this spring

Disney announced yesterday that it's working on a new game called 'Star Wars: Assault Team' for iOS and Android, and it's set to be released later this year. Now I know you're thinking "great, another Star Wars game, but this one looks to set itself apart.

Disney describes the game on its Tumblr blog as "a new turn-based combat game for mobile devices with strategy and card-battle elements," where users will be collecting classic characters from the Rebel Alliance and more to defeat enemies across the galaxy...

Angry Birds Star Wars II goes free as Apple’s App of the Week

Apple has named Rovio's popular Angry Birds Star Wars II game  its App of the Week for this week. This means that between now and next Thursday, you’ll be able to pick up the application for both your iPhone and iPad, for free.

For those unfamiliar with the game, it's Rovio's second entry in the Star Wars-themed series. And like the first one, it combines the addictive gameplay of Angry Birds with characters and settings from the successful sci-fi franchise...

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga hits the App Store

Warner Bros.' LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is now available in the App Store. The game is based on the Star Wars-themed toy line by the Lego Group, and was first released on consoles back on November 6, 2007.

For those who haven't played the title, it's a mashup of Lego Star Wars: The Video Game and its sequel Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, and it includes content, characters and storylines from all 6 Star Wars films...

Good news for those looking for a good way to kill some time while iOS 7 downloads, there's a new Angry Birds game out. Rovio has just released Angry Birds Star Wars II, and it's now available for download in the App Store.

Like the first installment, the game is based on the "Star Wars" movies, and allows players to join either the Pork Federation or the "Pork Side." There's more than 30 playable characters here, including Yoda, Jango Fett and more...

Konami’s Star Wars Force Collection fights its way into App Store

iOS gamers are having a field day today. First 2K Games released its iOS-exclusive 2K Drive. Next, Electronic Arts updated Real Racing 3 with seven generations of the legendary Porsche 911 and full iOS 7 compatibility. And finally rival Activision followed suit by unexpectedly unleashing a brand new Call of Duty game.

If none of the above is your cup of tea, then how about some Star Wars? Right on cue, publisher Konami today released Star Wars: Force Collection, the first Star Wars digital card battle game. If you're into the genre, Force Collection should keep you occupied with 230 character cards that include Episodes I-VI's famous heroes, villains and vehicles such as X-Wings, AT-ATs and Tie Fighters...

Rumor: Disney working on Star Wars streaming channel for Apple TV

Yesterday, Apple gave would-be shoppers another reason to consider its $99 Apple TV set-top box by adding five new channels from the likes of Vevo, Weather Channel, Disney and Smithsonian. Piggy-backing on the development, a sketchy report by a Star Wars fan website is out saying Disney has been working with Apple on a dedicated Star Wars-themed Apple TV channel.

It should be unleashed time for the holiday season and permit users to stream the final episodes of the animated Clone Wars television series. More on that after the break...

Join the pork side in Angry Birds Star Wars II clips starring Ian McDiarmid

Angry Birds maker Rovio today posted two amusing videos pertaining to the upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars II, the first installment to its Star Wars-themed Angry Birds game that was released last November.

As a matter of fact, the company actually started teasing Angry Birds Star Wars II a little over two months ago and we know it's due for release on September 19.

Keeping it on the fun side, Rovio invites you to "join the Pork Side" and play as the piggies. That's right, Angry Birds Star Wars II will feature bird and pig versions. Exploring some of the more than thirty characters from the Star Wars universe to be featured in the game, these clips are voiced by actor Ian McDiarmid who played the legendary Emperor character in the Star Wars movies...
