Last month, Apple began testing the app trailer waters by hosting a video clip on the App Store for the new game Clumsy Ninja. The embedded clip had no voiceover or custom App Store branding, and it’s the only one we’ve seen like this in the Store to date.
Now, it looks like Apple is running another experiment involving app and media discovery. We noticed this afternoon that it has given the new game Angry Birds Go! a custom landing page in the App Store with links to its related soundtrack and other apps… Read More

In keeping with its promise to release a new game on December 11, Finnish games developer Rovio Mobile on Wednesday posted Angry Birds Go! on the App Store.
The kart-racing game is reminiscent of Nintendo’s Mario Kart in that you’ll be racing through speedways, canyons, stunt roads and air courses and enjoying a variety of racing modes like Race, Time Boom, Fruit Splat, Champion Chase and Mega Match.
As Angry Birds Go! is set in Rovio’s Angry Birds universe, expect to see the familiar Piggy Island rendered in nice 3D graphics and a selection of familiar (and playable) Angry Birds characters, including the iconic pigs like King Pig and Mustache Pig.
There are over 50 soapbox karts to ride, and you can upgrade them by collecting bird coins. The game is available on a free-to-play basis, with in-app purchases available for coins, gems and various power-ups. I’ve included a launch trailer and some pretty screenies after the break… Read More

Angry Birds maker back in June teased its upcoming Angry Birds-themed kart racing game. Named Angry Birds Go, the game will be set on a 3D Piggy Island and include tons of characters with unique special powers and a fully rendered 3D world.
Then in August, the Finnish developer released more information, revealing the title will be a tie in with energy drinks maker Red Bull.
On Tuesday, Rovio gave us a release date and published a gameplay video which shows off game mechanics while revealing a bunch of bird and pig characters from the Angry Birds series. I’ve included the video and a few additional tidbits right after the break… Read More

Good news for those looking for a good way to kill some time while iOS 7 downloads, there’s a new Angry Birds game out. Rovio has just released Angry Birds Star Wars II, and it’s now available for download in the App Store.
Like the first installment, the game is based on the “Star Wars” movies, and allows players to join either the Pork Federation or the “Pork Side.” There’s more than 30 playable characters here, including Yoda, Jango Fett and more… Read More

It’s easy to downplay the wild success Rovio’s enjoyed with the Angry Birds games like no one is interested when in reality people continue to play and buy everything related to the franchise like there’s no tomorrow. It’s also OK not to admit you’re a fan of the series and still be interested in an Angry Birds-themed kart racing game the Finnish developer’s been working on.
Created in partnership with Austrian energy drink powerhouse Red Bull, Angry Birds Go is much like a few other racing games Red Bull has previously endorsed, though we’re of course expecting something of a twist here… Read More

Angry Birds maker Rovio today posted two amusing videos pertaining to the upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars II, the first installment to its Star Wars-themed Angry Birds game that was released last November.
As a matter of fact, the company actually started teasing Angry Birds Star Wars II a little over two months ago and we know it’s due for release on September 19.
Keeping it on the fun side, Rovio invites you to “join the Pork Side” and play as the piggies. That’s right, Angry Birds Star Wars II will feature bird and pig versions. Exploring some of the more than thirty characters from the Star Wars universe to be featured in the game, these clips are voiced by actor Ian McDiarmid who played the legendary Emperor character in the Star Wars movies… Read More

Back in May, Rovio began rolling out ‘Account,’ a cloud-based service that allows users to save their progress in games across various devices. And today, the Finnish game-maker announced that it’s now available to all iOS and Android users worldwide.
As before, Accounts is currently only available for gamers of the Croods and the original Angry Birds title, but the company says that it is intent on expanding it to other Angry Birds and non Angry Birds titles soon. More on the announcement after the fold… Read More

Just a few days after teasing Angry Birds Star Wars II, Rovio has announced today that the highly anticipated sequel will land in the App Store on September 19. As aforementioned, the game will tackle the prequels and feature a wide roster of new characters.
The Finnish developer says that gamers will get to play with 30 never-before-seen Angry Birds Star Wars characters, as well as choose their side—the ‘Pork side’ or the Empire. And the game will launch alongside new interactive toys from Hasbro called Telepods… Read More

A while ago we stopped posting stories about episodic updates to Rovio’s Angry Birds bird-flinging series because we felt these games have run their course. Today’s update is different and noteworthy because for the first time Rovio has brought Angry Birds and Bad Piggies together in a Red’s Mighty Feathers update to the original Angry Birds game.
The approach has resulted in an all-new gameplay that sees you shooting down wave after wave of pesky pugs advancing in their 73 crazy contraptions, including wacky flying machines… Read More
