Keek: the best way to view apps in Control Center

There are several jailbreak tweaks that allow you to view apps in Control Center, CCMore being the latest, but none of them are as good or as well implemented as this tweak.

Keek is a jailbreak tweak that lets you quickly open your most recently viewed apps in Control Center. You can then go back to Control Center, close the app, or launch the app in full screen view. Watch our video walkthrough to see Keek in action.

Review: WALTR for Mac converts & transfers any video to iPhone and iPad, no iTunes required

Getting DivX and MKV movies, FLAC audio files or audiobooks onto your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad is an incredibly cumbersome multi-step procedure, one that involves third-party apps like Handbrake to transcode “foreign” media files into iOS-friendly formats before importing them into iTunes for syncing with your iOS gadgets.

I've tried many, many apps which promise to get the job done before deciding to settle on WALTR by young European startup Softorino.

Now, I'm not exaggerating when I say that WALTR is an absolutely incredible piece of software. This nifty program literally takes the pain away from transferring media to iOS devices without worrying about file types.

Its lightning fast algorithm is hands down the best I've ever seen, on any platform, ever. I've been happily using WALTR for months now and couldn't be happier with it. And trust me when I say that you should be using WALTR, too, especially if you aren't jailbroken and want the simplest solution possible for transferring media to your device without going through iTunes.

Review: Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 – a budget Android phone with a unique feature

It's almost unfair how many great budget smartphones there are that run Android. I think it's safe to say that there is an embarrassment of riches for Android platform users in the budget phone category.

I've already reviewed phones like the Asus ZenFone 2, and the 3rd-generation Moto G—both highly competent phones. Today, I get to go hands-on with a similar phone, as far as price is concerned, in the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 ($249.99 on Amazon).

Crisp drone footage narrated by Steve Jobs offers a detailed look at iSpaceship progress

The Apple Campus 2 project, a future 2.8 million square foot home for approximately 12,000 Apple employees, is coming along nicely. The structure, affectionally dubbed the iSpaceship due to its ring-shaped design, was recently filmed from above by Silicon Valley-based videographer Duncan Sinfield who shared his footage with MacRumors.

The high-quality aerial video includes segments of Steve Jobs' 2011 project pitch to the Cupertino City Council as a voiceover. The video is well worth watching as it gives details on the different buildings Apple is constructing while offering progress comparisons with the previous footage from early August.

Meerkat now supports YES/NO polls, showing photos to watchers and more

Meerkat, the popular live video streaming software that competes with Twitter-owned Periscope, today issued a nice little update to its iOS application in the App Store.

With version number bumped to 1.5.4, this edition of Meerkat includes a few enhancements like a revamped feed and the ability to show your watchers photos from your Camera roll.

Perhaps most crucially, Meerkat now includes a polling feature which allows anyone to ask their watchers simple YES/NO questions about anything, as they're broadcasting.

Apple to live-stream September 9 media event

Those not in attendance will be happy to learn that Apple just confirmed it will provide a live-stream of its upcoming September 9 media event.

Like the company's major events held in the past two years, the September 9 event should be presented at the www.apple.com/live micro-site in the blog format, with cherry-picked tweets, juicy photos and quotes updating in real-time right below the video stream.

The iPhone maker sent out invites for the press conference earlier today. Invite graphics sports the colorful Apple logo and a tagline reading “Hey Siri, give us a hint”.

Video of partially assembled iPhone 6s reveals a few previously unknown tidbits

A video of a partially assembled 'iPhone 6s' is making rounds on the web, revealing previously unknown details about Apple's next-generation handset which is set for unveiling at a rumored media event on Wednesday, September 9.

According to MacRumors, the authenticity of the components used to kinda assemble the phone couldn't be verified though the parts appear to resemble previously leaked ones from an iPhone 6s prototype.

igSpeedster: an awesome tweak for managing multiple Instagram accounts

igSpeedster is a new jailbreak tweak that's squarely aimed at social media managers with multiple Instagram accounts. But you don't need to be a social media manager to benefit from igSpeedster, as it's not uncommon for a person to have multiple Instagram accounts.

I like to keep my personal and work Instagram accounts separate, so a tweak like this is right up my alley. Yet, igSpeedster does more than just let you manage multiple accounts. It adds the ability to save images to your photo library, tap on links, copy captions, and repost photos. It really is one of the best Instagram jailbreak tweaks that I've seen thus far.

Apple posts new ‘if it’s not an iPhone’ ad highlighting Apple Pay

Apple on Thursday posted a new ad to its YouTube channel labeled "iPhone - Apple Pay." The spot is the latest in the company's ongoing "if it's not an iPhone, it's not an iPhone" campaign, and of course highlights its new mobile payment service.

The commercial is very similar to previous ads in the campaign. It begins with a voiceover saying "this is an iPhone," and then the video proceeds to show how Apple Pay works. The shot closes with the tagline "if it's not an iPhone, it's not an iPhone."

Review: Sennheiser ClipMic digital and Apogee MetaRecorder

As many of you guys know, I’m fairly involved in audio and video when it comes to producing content for iDownloadBlog. As someone who co-produces multiple podcasts each week, I’m especially fond of audio, and any new product that surfaces that could possibly give my audio game a boost is on my radar.

One such product is Sennheiser’s new ClipMic digital ($199 on Amazon). It’s a lavalier mic that connects directly to the iPhone via its MFi certified Lightning connector. With the ClipMic digital, you can basically transform your iPhone into a high quality audio recorder...

Samsung posts teaser for upcoming ‘Gear S2’ Apple Watch competitor

During its big Galaxy Note 5/S6 Edge+ event last week, Samsung showed off a video teaser of its upcoming Apple Watch competitor, the Gear S2. For folks who missed the keynote, the clip is now available on the company's Mobile YouTube channel.

We can glean quite a bit from the video. The Gear S2 will have a round watch face, similar to the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R, with round icons and other UI elements to match. It also looks like it will feature heart rate and fitness tracking capabilities.
