New teaser shows checkra1n jailbreak running Cydia and Zebra

With a resource as powerful as @axi0mX’s checkm8 bootrom exploit floating around in the wild, it’s should come as no surprise to anyone that prominent members of the jailbreak community are actively working on tools that take advantage of it. One of the most significant of those is checkra1n, a project that is currently being spearheaded by renowned hacker and Yalu jailbreak lead developer Luca Todesco.

It’s been a little over a week since we last heard anything new about checkra1n, but based on what we saw at the time, it would seem things are falling into place quite nicely. Now, a new Tweet shared Sunday afternoon by the official checkra1n Twitter page reveals what appears to be working package managers installed on an iPhone X, iPhone SE, and a seventh-generation iPod touch.

Cydia Installer update addresses unresponsive tab button bug

If you’re currently jailbroken with Pwn20wnd’s unc0ver tool, then you may want to launch the Cydia app from your Home screen and refresh your sources.

According to a Tweet shared just this weekend by unc0ver co-developer Sam Bingner, a hot-fix for the Cydia Installer is now available that resolves a particularly irritating bug in which buttons in the app’s tab bar would become unresponsive to a user's taps:

CoolStar says Sileo development is ‘suspended until further notice’

Electra Team lead developer CoolStar took to Discord just this past week with a rather unfortunate update for Chimera and Electra jailbreak users: development on the platforms’ proprietary Sileo package manager has been suspended “until further notice.”

Citing the announcement, the decision to put Sileo’s development on hiatus stems from two significant factors, with the first being that CoolStar isn’t happy with Sileo’s acceptance rate in the jailbreak community and the other being out of exhaustion from contributing more to the project than the other project developers:

Jailbreak dependency update should fix unc0ver battery issues

The unc0ver tool by Pwn20wnd is one of the most popular ways to jailbreak a handset running iOS 11 or 12. If you’ve used this solution before, then you’ve undoubtedly experienced what could only be described as a sudden and unexpected battery drain, even when your device sits idle. Fortunately, there’s a fix for that now.

Unc0ver co-developer Sam Bingner released an updated version of UIKit Tools Thursday morning, bringing the jailbreak dependency up to version 1.1.15-1 in the process. In a subtle Retweet by Pwn20wnd, we learn that this update should resolve battery issues experienced by unc0ver users:

Sileo v1.5.0 brings 30% speed boost, iOS 13 support, and more

Anyone enjoying a jailbreak by way of the Electra Team’s Chimera or Electra tools will want to fire up the jailbreak’s native Sileo package manager and refresh its sources this weekend.

The Sileo Team released an updated version of the Sileo package manager on Saturday, bringing it up to version 1.5.0 with significant speed boosts, preliminary support for iOS 13, and dark mode-centric aesthetic improvements. The announcement was made early this morning via Twitter:

Second unc0ver v3.7.0 public beta released to address several stability issues on A12(X)

It’s been a couple of weeks since hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd implemented full-fledged A12(X) support into the unc0ver jailbreak in the form of a public beta, and as you might come to expect from an initial public beta release, it was a buggy launch indeed.

Given the circumstances, it seemed logical that we’d see an update soon enough, and today seems to be that lucky day for those who’ve been waiting for critical bug fixes. Pwn20wnd officially launched the second unc0ver v3.7.0 public beta for testing on Monday with the following changes:

Apple stops signing iOS 13.1, hindering firmware downgrades

Apple on Monday stopped signing iOS 13.1, a move on the Cupertino-based company’s part that prevents most iPhone and iPad users from downgrading from any newer version of the mobile operating system.

It’s worth noting that Apple stopped signing iOS 13.0 just last week along with iOS 13.1.1. For whatever reason, Apple continued to sign iOS 13.1 alongside iOS 13.1.2, with the latter being the latest release at the time of this writing.

This tweak can delete all Messages app conversations with a tap

Chronic texters know just how easy it can be to fill iOS’ Messages app with active conversation cells, but what about when it comes time to delete them all?

You could swipe and delete each one individually or you could tap the ‘Edit’ button and select each one individually before deleting them all in one fell swoop. But a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called clearallmesg by iOS developer mr Yacine takes things one step further to make deleting messages in bulk even easier.

Protect your identity on the internet like never before with Guardian Firewall

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is often your best bet when you want to browse the internet privately. Not only do most VPNs offer end-to-end encryption for secure data transmission, but they will also cloak your true location from prying eyes.

Many VPN services work in the same way, but Guardian Firewall by Sudo Security Group is a completely different type of VPN that aims to clamp down on user privacy even further by filtering outgoing data transmissions that could potentially expose personal information about you.
