Unc0ver jailbreak updated to v6.1.2 with several bug fixes and notable new features

Pwn20wnd’s unc0ver jailbreak was the first semi-untethered tool to add support for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3 back in February, but recent attention shifted to the Odyssey Team’s Taurine jailbreak for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3 given that it just launched last week.

Still, that hasn’t stopped Pwn20wnd from cranking out regular revisions to unc0ver. Just this evening, the unc0ver jailbreak received an update to version 6.1.2 with a number of new stability improvements and a shiny new safety feature that jailbreakers may find helpful.

Libhooker updated to v1.5.5 with better battery life, more hooking support, & other improvements

Anyone using the Chimera jailbreak for iOS 12, the Odyssey jailbreak for iOS 13, the Taurine jailbreak for iOS 14, or the Odysseyra1n bootstrap on a checkra1n’d device will almost certainly want to launch the included Sileo package manager and refresh their sources this morning, as it appears that a new version of libhooker is now available in the form of version 1.5.5.

Libhooker is the premiere tweak injection method for the aforementioned jailbreaks, and this means that all your jailbreak tweaks and extensions depend on it to hook into system processes and make their intended magic happen.

Odyssey Team updates Taurine jailbreak for iOS 14.0-14.3 to version 1.0.2

Since officially releasing the Taurine jailbreak tool for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3, the Odyssey Team has been working with diligence in the background, continuously refining the jailbreak’s performance and reliability and squashing bugs in accordance with user feedback.

Today, the Taurine jailbreak was updated for a second time since its original release. The latest iteration, dubbed Taurine version 1.0.2, is now available to all users and appears to further the jailbreak’s resilience by addressing bugs that would otherwise hinder a sound user experience.

The Odyssey Team officially launched the brand-new Taurine jailbreak tool for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3 this past week following months’ worth of hype and teasers. But like most new software, releases are trailed by subsequent updates to smooth over any rough edges that may have been left over from beta testing.

Such is the case with the novel Taurine jailbreak, which seems to have received its first official update just this afternoon to version 1.0.1.

Auto-executing ap0110 jailbreak for 32 & 64-bit iOS 10 devices now available

The jailbreak community has been on fire lately. Not only have all iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3 devices been made pwnable by both the tried and true unc0ver and brand new Taurine jailbreak tools, but the recent release of the kok3shi jailbreak made it possible for users of 64-bit iOS 9.3-9.3.5 devices to pwn their handsets as well.

Now, it seems a little more love is being provided for iOS 10 users as the Athenus Dev Team and w212 have teamed up to release ap0110, an auto-executing semi-untethered jailbreak for 32 and 64-bit iOS 10.x devices.

Apple closes signing window for iOS & iPadOS 14.4.1, halting downgrades

Apple released iOS & iPadOS 14.4.2 last Friday alongside iOS 12.5.2 for older devices that don’t support iOS & iPadOS 14 in an effort to remedy a WebKit-based security vulnerability that the company had knowledge of being actively exploited in the wild to maliciously impact its user base.

Given the amount of time that has passed since the release of those updates, we’re unsurprised to learn that Apple has officially stopped signing iOS & iPadOS 14.4.1 this evening. It’s a move on the company’s part that bars the majority end users from voluntarily downgrading their handset’s firmware to the previous version.

CoolStar’s Taurine jailbreak for all iOS 14.0-14.3 devices officially released

Although the unc0ver jailbreak by Pwn20wnd was the first to implement support for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3, those who’ve been patiently holding out for CoolStar’s iOS & iPadOS 14-based jailbreak instead are going to be in for a treat.

Steering away from the initial plan to launch an SSH-only iOS & iPadOS 14 jailbreak first before launching a full-fledged iOS & iPadOS 14 jailbreak afterward, CoolStar has instead decided to focus all efforts on the full-fledged option — the fruits of which are now available to the general public.

Substitute updated to version 2.0.10 with more bug fixes

Substitute, the tweak injection method used by the unc0ver jailbreak (and optionally on checkra1n devices), received an update this week that officially brought the package up to version 2.0.10.

Much like the previous update that launched around a month ago, Substitute version 2.0.10 brings bug fixes to improve the package’s performance and stability.

Kok3shi jailbreak updated to v1.0 beta 2 with Cydia installer & other fixes

Just last week, SakuRα Development launched an all-new semi-untethered jailbreak tool dubbed kok3shi for 64-bit iOS 9.3-9.3.6 devices. It was a bit of a surprise given that most of today’s jailbreak-centric news revolves around iOS & iPadOS 13 or 14.

But as is the case with any initial jailbreak release, it would t be long before kok3shi received its first update. As such, SakuRα Development released a second public beta version of the kok3shi jailbreak, officially bringing it up to version 1.0 beta 2.

Phoenix jailbreak for 32-bit iOS 9.3.5-9.3.6 updated to V6 with improvements

While much of today’s jailbreak-centric news revolves around iOS & iPadOS 13 and 14, every so often an older jailbreak tool gets an update that benefits end users on older firmware versions.

Today offers a rare example of the above sentiment after the Phoenix semi-untethered jailbreak tool for 32-bit devices running iOS 9.3.5-9.3.6 received an update to version 6 — the first in almost half a year.
