ToDoNotes 2 is out with iOS 6 support

In the summer of 2011, jailbreak developers participated in a cool project called tweak week. Several devs each took a week, and released one new jailbreak tweak everyday. It went on for 3+ months, and we got several great tweaks out of it.

One of those tweaks was ToDoNotes, by TwitkaFly developer moeseth, which added a notepad to the Spotlight page that talked with the Notes app, giving you quick access to your memos. And version 2 just came out with iOS 6 support...

Add functionality to the AssistiveTouch feature with MyAssistive

Buried deep in the iOS Settings app, at the bottom of the Accessibility window, is a feature called AssistiveTouch. Apple built this tool to make its mobile devices more accessible to users with impaired physical or motor skills.

Enabling the feature adds a tiny icon to your device's screen that typically, when tapped, opens a menu with shortcuts for a variety of system functions. But with the new MyAssistive jailbreak tweak, you can change that...

iBatteryInfo provides useful battery data when unplugging your device

If your device's battery life is a major concern for you, there are a number of jailbreak tweaks out there that will help you monitor and get the most out of it. There's BatteryDoctorPro, Battery Status and BattSaver, to name a few.

Today we're adding another one to the list, a new tweak called iBatteryInfo. This simple utility offers up all kinds of useful data, like whether or not your battery is fully charged, when plugging in and unplugging your iOS device...

Customize your Lock screen with widgets and more with LockHTML 2

Folks who are fans of the LockHTML jailbreak tweak will be happy to hear that version 2 is now available. The tweak, which is developed by Busche, hit Cydia last week with new code, new features and a number of improvements.

For those unfamiliar with LockHTML, it is (was?) a jailbreak utility that allows you to customize the appearance of your Lock screen with a clock-hider and themeable HTML widgets. And version 2.0 adds a host of new options...

How to re-enable background audio playback for Safari videos in iOS 6

Remember the good old days, in iOS 5, when you could listen to a video's audio in the background on your device while multitasking? All you had to do was double tap the Home button, swipe to the left to reveal the iPod controls, and press Play.

But for some reason, Apple disabled this feature in iOS 6, leaving us without a native way to do things like listen to YouTube videos in Safari while texting or browsing Twitter. But the good news is, we've come across a fairly easy way to get it back...

Badge Clearer gets rid of icon badges without disabling them

Yesterday we showed you a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to customize the look of your app icon badges. And today, we've got something for those of you who'd rather just get rid of them. Introducing Badge Clearer.

Yes, I'm well aware that there are already a few tweaks out there that clear app badges. In fact, we just reviewed one a few weeks ago called Clear Badges. But this one goes about doing it a little bit differently than they do...

Keep your apps up-to-date with Auto App Updater

I'm on my iPhone all throughout the day, so when an update for an app pops up, I usually grab it right away. On my iPad, however, it's a different story. Sometimes I'll go a couple of days without using it, and the updates tend to pile up.

For those of you with a similar problem, you'll be happy to hear that there's a jailbreak tweak called Auto App Updater that can automatically install your updates for you. So you'll never have to worry about installing them manually again...

Popular jailbreak backup tool iBye updated for iOS 6

Good news this afternoon on the jailbreak front, the popular backup/restore tool iBye has been updated to support iOS 6.x. The app, which is developed by Evil Penguin, allows you to backup everything from Cydia to your usual iTunes content.

Today's update brings iBye to version 3.0.1, and includes support for the latest jailbreak, as well as a few other improvements. Users will enjoy faster upload and download times, bug fixes and memory fixes. There's more details after the fold...

Change up the look of your icon badges with Badge Customizer

Today we're going to be taking a look at Badge Customizer, a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to customize the look of your app icon badges in iOS 6. You can alter their color, size and where they are positioned on your Home screen icons.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Cody, there's already tweaks out there that do this." And you're right. There's AppTag, and I'm sure a few others. But I don't know how many of them work with iOS 6. Besides, it never hurts to have options...

P0sixninja says he’s discovered exploits for next jailbreak

This is kind of interesting. Well-known iOS hacker and (former?) Chronic Dev Team member p0sixninja says that he has discovered enough exploits in iOS 6 to build a new jailbreak. The previous one, as most of you know, was recently shut down by Apple.

But it appears that p0sixninja has discovered some vulnerabilities that were not patched by the company's security team in the latest iOS update, as he tweeted out earlier tonight: "Well, so far it looks like the next jailbreak might be created entirely by me..."

Spice up your device’s unlock animation with LiveWire

Tired of the standard zoom out animation that you see when you 'Slide to Unlock' your iOS device? You're not alone. Developers have created a number of jailbreak tweaks to spice up the unlock animation. And today, we're adding another one.

Introducing LiveWire, a new jailbreak tweak that modifies your device's behavior as it moves from the Lock screen to the Home screen. Where the default method kind of uses a zoom out effect, LiveWire looks more like stage curtains opening...

Limit your usage of up to 5 apps with AppCapPro

When we reviewed AppCap, a jailbreak tweak that offers digital willpower by allowing you to place limitations on the amount of time you spend using apps, back in February, we said we'd like to see multiple app support.

And it looks like the developer Binh Tran heard our plea, because he's just released a new 'Pro' version of the tweak that allows you to set up usage limitations—date, time, frequency—on up to 5 different applications...
