Spice up your device’s unlock animation with LiveWire

Tired of the standard zoom out animation that you see when you ‘Slide to Unlock’ your iOS device? You’re not alone. Developers have created a number of jailbreak tweaks to spice up the unlock animation. And today, we’re adding another one.

Introducing LiveWire, a new jailbreak tweak that modifies your device’s behavior as it moves from the Lock screen to the Home screen. Where the default method kind of uses a zoom out effect, LiveWire looks more like stage curtains opening…

Here’s a clip of the tweak in action (yes, I realize it’s not as good as Jeff’s video work. But it does the job):

The effect is actually pretty cool. I like it better, at least, than TVLocker and some of the other ones out there. And it’s super easy to install too. Once downloaded, there’s no Spring board icon to hunt down, or options to configure. It comes ready to go.

LiveWire has also been extremely stable from what I’ve seen—there’s been no stuttering or noticeable battery drain. And as you saw in the above clip, it’s compatible with a wide range of other Lock screen tweaks including Unfold and ClockFade.

If you want to try out LiveWire for yourself, you can find it in Cydia, in the BigBoss repo, for free.
