Beautiful new concept envisions iWatch as a high-end wristwatch

One of the crazier rumors we've heard thus far involving the iWatch comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said the accessory may cost as much as 'several thousand dollars.' Kuo is well respected in the Apple community, but this particular prediction seemed a bit off.

That is, unless the iWatch ends up looking like this new concept from Curved/labs that surfaced earlier this week. The site envisions the rumored smartwatch looking like a high-end Rolex, with a digital chronograph face, wireless charging, and several other features...

Rad concept imagines iWatch as a timeless watch without a touchscreen and voice control

There's definitely no shortage of both beautiful and terrible iWatch concepts these days. At this point, it's all but certain that Apple's been cooking up some kind of a wearable device. That said, I don't think the iWatch will be a smartwatch at all.

Needles to say, this isn't stopping 3D artists from dreaming up the ultimate wrist-worn smartwatch with the Apple logo on it.

But as gorgeous as some iWatch renderings are, their envisioned interfaces are classic examples of form over function. Although I don't see myself wearing any kind of wristwatch, earlier today I stumbled upon a fresh batch of stylish concept images by the talented Hungarian designer Gábor Balogh that could easily have me change my mind as to what a smartwatch should actually be...

Concept: Apple’s rumored health/fitness band

There has been absolutely no shortage of downright silly iWatch concepts, with a few notable exceptions of compelling renderings doing their best to depict what an iWatch might - but probably never will - look like. The vast majority of the renderings are probably way off mark in their depictions of an Apple-branded wearable device.

But as Tim Cook has reportedly given the nod to Apple engineers to focus on health and fitness functions, it's becoming clear we could see a fitness band from Apple rather than an iWatch. This newest batch of renderings comes from the creative team of the British technology magazine called T3, which posted a nicely done smart bracelet concept dubbed the iBand...

Finally, an iWatch concept that doesn’t look like a watch

I've always felt that the watch itself should be almost an afterthought in the never-ending discussion pertaining to what Apple’s rumored iWatch should be. ‘You’re thinking about it all wrong’ instantly comes to mind whenever new iWatch concepts hit the web. Looking at the current crop of mockups, their predictability and untenableness is starting to feel depressing and really killing all the fun for me.

But there’s some hope left as 3D artist Todd Hamilton took it upon himself to improve upon Thomas Bogner’s Nike FuelBand-like iWatch concept, taking his idea to the next level of awesomeness. It's right after the jump: have a look at the renderings and dare tell us it’s not the best iWatch concept you’ve seen thus far...

New iWatch concept looks like Nike’s FuelBand, runs iOS 7

Although we're not expecting to see it on stage at Apple's media event tomorrow, the iWatch is still a highly anticipated product in the company's pipeline. Most industry watchers don't have the device launching until late 2014.

There are essentially two theories on what Apple's wearable will look like: one being an actual watch-like device, and the other is more of a fitness band. Today's concept takes after the latter, and we have to say, it looks awesome...

Gorgeous new iWatch concept features flexible display, runs iOS 7

Since we first started hearing reports that Apple was working on a smartwatch, designers have been churning out concepts left and right showing what their visions are for the device. And we've seen some good ones too, see here and here.

But this new one from Federico Ciccarese, of Ciccarese Design, might be the best yet. Designed with a flexible touchscreen display, it looks more like a futuristic, high-end fashion accessory than it does a smartwatch, and it even runs iOS 7...

Concept imagines iWatch maps

Renowned 3D artist Martin Hajek today shared a new batch of interesting conceptual renderings that strive to envision how Apple's rumored iWatch might seemingly lend itself to maps, which have long been the killer app category on mobile devices.

Indeed, with power-savvy Bluetooth Smart technology and iOS allegedly powering the device, a smartwatch from the people that brought you the iPhone could theoretically retrieve a user's geographical location by tapping the iPhone's GPS sensor, simply acting as a second screen for turn-by-turn directions...

Your fresh batch of attractive iWatch renders

I'm a big fan of 3D artist Martin Hajek and his work. In case you're unfamiliar with Hajek, he's the brains behind the often gorgeous renderings of rumored Apple products and is renowned for his 3D modeling skills, as evident in his exquisite renderings. Back in March, Hajek created a more traditional concept of the rumored iWatch for the MacUser magazine.

He's back at it again, having created a fresh batch of alleged Apple smartphone mockups for the April 2013 issue of the magazine...

iWatch concept, the traditional edition

Hot on the heels of releasing a set of renditions depicting what an iPhone 6 with a 4.6-inch screen might look like, 3D artist Martin Hajek is out with a new concept for the iWatch, Apple's rumored iOS-powered smartwatch that has been reportedly cooking in Jony Ive's kitchen for quite a time now.

Unlike a bunch of sci-fi renderings and some pretty radical mockups that couldn't be farther from the real thing (or so we hope, from the bottom of our hearts), Martin's new renderings featured on the April cover of the MacUser magazine employs a more traditional approach to what an everyman's app-enabled wristwatch should look like...

New iWatch concept takes a more traditional approach

As reports claiming that Apple is working on a wristwatch-like device continue to swirl, and subsequent speculation grows, concept artists have taken to their digital palettes to create their own versions of the so-called 'iWatch.'

We've already seen a handful of these Apple-watch mockups—most of which feature curved glass displays and futuristic designs. But today, we've come across a concept that takes a far more traditional wristwatch approach...

Meet iSiri, the best iWatch concept to date

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=W_mn5rkwyCs

The radical iSiri gadget idea by designer Federico Ciccarese may be the ultimate iWatch concept conceived to date. Falling somewhere in between this eerie-looking Matrix-ified gadget and another conceptual time piece with a FaceTime camera on it, iSiri seems so obvious and inevitable. If only Apple didn't replace the rectangular iPod nano with a tall one...
