That list, in addition with the countries already selling the iPhone 4S, makes this the fastest Apple product rollout yet...

Meet the Man Who Sold Siri to Apple, Dag Kittlaus

Since the iPhone 4S debuted last month at Apple's "Let's Talk" iPhone event, everyone has been talking about one feature: Siri. Apple's digital assistant has become extremely popular, even outside the tech world.

Unlike most inventions that make their way into Apple's iOS products, Siri wasn't made in Cupertino. It was actually acquired in a deal rumored to be worth close to $200 million, making a handful of men instant millionaires. Meet Dag Kittlaus...

The iPhone 5 Prototype Was Apparently Real?

You'll probably remember that before the iPhone 4S was announced, it was pretty much open season on rumors. We had all kinds of them.

If you believed the rumors, we were going to get a new, smaller iPhone with a larger screen. It was going to be thinner, too. It was going to be even more awesome than something that's really awesome, and we were going to need one. Badly.

What we did get was the iPhone 4S, and while we're not saying that's a bad thing, it's no iPhone 5. But was there any truth to some of those iPhone 5 rumors after all? According to one Business Insider source, there may just have been some...

Hackers Are Able to Control Siri With Their Minds

The geniuses behind Project Black Mirror have created a way to control Siri with their minds. By constructing an elaborate system involving the Arduino prototyping platform, a MacBook Pro, and ECG pads to capture analog brain waves, these hackers can have Siri make a call by merely thinking.

Yeah, we're not kidding.

Apple Begins Offering Unlocked iPhone 4S in US Store

We knew it was going to come at some point during the month of November, but we didn't know when Apple was going to officially start selling the unlocked iPhone 4S in the United States. Turns out, it was today.

With Apple already selling unlocked handsets on other countries, this is bringing the United States into line with everyone else. But if you've been waiting for the chance to buy an iPhone 4S without a 2-year contract, well, now you can!

All three capacities are available, along with both white and black models...

Sprint to Begin Locking iPhone 4S SIMs Starting Today

There has been more than a little confusion surrounding the state of play with the SIM slot on Sprint's iPhone 4S handsets. Are they unlocked? Were they unlocked? Will they ever be unlocked? We've gone through the whole gamut of options over the last few weeks.

SprintFeed has got hold of some clarification via internal Sprint documents, and the waters may be starting to clear. It's a mixture of both good, and bad news.

According to their analysis of the aforementioned document, it seems that Sprint will begin locking iPhone 4S smartphones during the activation process, and that will begin on 11/11/11...

iOS 5.0.1 Not Helping Improve Battery Life

When Apple dropped iOS 5.0.1 yesterday, the hope amongst many was that it may help to fix the battery issue that was introduced with iOS 5.0.

It is becoming apparent that iOS 5.0.1 may not have actually fixed the battery bug we told you about before, with our own location-based fix still appearing to be the best way of saving precious battery life...

Apple Releases iOS 5.0.1 to the Public

After multiple developer betas, and a series of customer tests, Apple has finally released iOS 5.0.1 to the masses. The update comes just under a month after Apple released iOS 5.0, which included over 200 new features.

Unfortunately, iOS 5 brought with it serious battery problems. And after weeks of complaints, Apple gave an official statement last week that confirmed both the presence of the bugs and the existence of a fix...

Your iPhone Camera Can Follow You Around Using the Awesome Swivl Mount

The iPhone's camera is becoming so good that you can arguably do without a 'real' camera these days. Packing a 8 megapixel camera, the iPhone 4S outperforms most point-and-shoot cameras, and it also kicks out some impressive 1080p video.

Unfortunately, your iPhone can't track your movements, all the while keeping you perfectly framed.

With Swivl, any iPhone can be turned into an auto-tracking camera, and it looks great...

Voice Actor Behind the British Version of Siri Speaks Out

An interesting story in The Telegraph this morning features the voiceover artist behind the British version of Siri. The actor was recently contacted by Apple and told to not talk publicly about Siri, but the real kicker is that he didn't know that he was the voice of Siri in the first place!

In an interview with the actor, Jon Briggs, you get a look into the world of voiceover recordings and some of the history behind how Siri's voices came to be.

T-Mobile Forecasts Low 4th Quarter Due to Lack of iPhone

In the months leading up to Apple's iPhone 4S announcement, the rumor mill had T-Mobile pegged as getting the handset. And with the country's number three carrier slated to receive the device, it made sense that number 4 would as well.

But on October 4, when Apple unveiled its latest smartphone, there was no mention of the operator. It isn't that T-Mobile isn't interested in carrying the smartphone, it's that Apple has yet to extend the offer. And the carrier will bleed customers because of it...

A Closer Look at the iPhone 4S Proximity Sensor and Siri

Apple recently stated in a support email that it has no plans to bring Siri to older iDevices, and many are wondering why. If it's just a matter of software, then Apple's decision to not bring Siri to non-4S devices can be seen as a simple marketing gimmick. If other devices can run Siri like the iPhone 4S, then why not make it available for everyone?

Porting Siri to other iDevices involves more than just software, as there are some noticeable hardware differences in the iPhone 4S.
